Before his big move to the US, Prince Harry was actively involved in numerous courses, such as conservation and charities. However, for the longest time, he had also held a fear that time was running out.

The prince was fixated on having "a shelf life", and often approached the matter with an inkling that he would do whatever he needed to because he had a limited time. The Times reports that he was often worried that he would become irrelevant once Prince George came of age.

He also compared himself to Prince Andrew, with his staff constantly assuring him that he was nothing like his uncle and that he could still have an impact while in his forties, fifties, and even longer, as long as he set his foundations right early enough.

Harry often felt that the people he worked with let him down. He felt that some of his advisors spent much of their time talking him down for the things he wanted to do because his causes did not fit into the bigger picture of what the three — Harry, Prince William, and Kate Middleton — were trying to achieve.

Sadly, Harry became exposed to negative influences from the outside, which would affect his perceptions of the opinions of others in later life.

Harry’s Media War Escalated after Meghan Came into the Picture

Years before Harry and his wife Meghan Markle became a thing, Harry was already battling media wars. His grievances with the tabloid press often led to tensions with his staff members. One insider says Harry was always making calls, messaging nonstop, and his Twitter presence undeniable.

But his enemies were not limited to the media. A source disclosed that he had mistrust for courtiers at Buckingham Palace and that his frustration was all there before Meghan came into the picture.

The source said that with Harry, it constant loyalty tests of his staff. He would often question his staff about their loyalty towards him, asking if they would fight for him.

He would often use the phrase "the palace syndrome" whenever one wouldn't fight his battles, saying that giving in to the media was a sign that one had developed it.

While the situation had been bad for Harry, things only got worse when Meghan turned up in 2016, and she and the prince started their whirlwind romance.

Harry's staff was incredibly aware that Meghan was different from other royal girlfriends and did not shy away from letting people know what her opinions were. In 2017, before Meghan and Harry became engaged, she reportedly told one of Harry's advisors:

“I think we both know I’m going to be one of your bosses soon.”

In "Finding Freedom", a biography of Harry and Meghan, the authors, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, say that Harry would often read people's comments on articles despite how nasty or racist they were. An excerpt from the book says he could not stop himself from reading the comments but would regret opening the link as soon as he did.

Duncan Larcombe, who also wrote a biography about Harry disclosed that King Charles had not read a newspaper in years yet Harry often ensured he read any coverage about his life work or relationships:

"I always want to know what people are saying about me."

In early 2022, the Sussex attended the star-studded Super Bowl in Los Angeles, where Harry's cousin Princess Eugenie joined them. The two were spotted at the stadium stands in face masks with neither aligning to a specific team.

Body language expert Dr. Lillian Glass analyzed photos from the event, claiming that Harry and Eugenie did not look as happy as they always did during previous interactions. She said:

“In fact, ever since Harry has been in America, he doesn't look as happy as he looked in the UK as you don't see him with a genuine smile.”

Even so, there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel. After so many troubles, Harry might finally reconnect with his family after his family offered him many "olive branches" during the mourning period for the Queen. Reports say that the family reconciliation may finally bring the prince some peace after all his struggles.

During the period between the Queen's death and burial, Harry and his brother Prince William seemed to get along for the first time in a long time. The two were spotted sitting near each other on numerous occasions with reports saying they must have talked behind closed doors.

Two days after the Queen died, the two brothers stepped out with their wives to view the floral tributes laid by the Windsor walls and then were later spotted exchanging a few words during a joint walkabout.

King Charles also offered an olive branch to his youngest son during his first public speech as King, where he expressed his love for Harry and Meghan as they built their lives in the US.
