While we now know Goldie Hawn as Kurt Russell's longtime girlfriend, she had a life before she met him that included a husband who she met at a young age and desperately wanted to be with.
The pair had something of a whirlwind romance and ended up getting married. However, their relationship quickly soured, and they separated three years before they finalized their divorce.

Before Goldie became a famous actress, she was a 20-year-old woman who had fallen in love with Gus Trikonis. Gus had a career in Hollywood and was eight years older than Goldie, but that didn't stop her infatuation.
Goldie and Gus were both Scorpios, born on the same day. They were both dancers, too. Goldie fell deeply in love with Gus quickly. By age 23, she had gotten her wish with Gus.
Shortly after they met, Gus went to Vegas and phoned Goldie while he was there to declare his love for her. She was shocked as her father was the only male who had ever told her he loved her.

The couple then got married in Honolulu in 1969. Goldie revealed that it wasn't normal to get married at 23, but nothing about her life had been normal, so it was something she was known to do.
She said she wanted to get married, have children, and live an everyday life. She even had dreams of opening a dancing school after she got married to her dream man. She said that he was a star to her.
Gus and Goldie's Bump in the Road
Before Goldie and Gus got married, while he was in Las Vegas, and shortly after, he had told her he loved her; he cheated on her. Goldie went to a fortune teller to confirm her fears about her relationship with Gus.

She mentioned that he didn't contact her for a week after he told her he loved her. She then found out that the love of her life had had an affair and could think of nothing else but to see a fortune teller.
When she arrived at the fortune teller's doorstep, the fortune teller told her she would be a celebrity. Goldie said to her that she didn't know that, but what she needed to know was whether or not her boyfriend had been unfaithful.
The fortune teller told her that Gus had been with someone else and that she needed to fly to Las Vegas to confront him. Goldie mentioned that it was the "saddest thing ever" when Gus confirmed he was having an affair.

She asked Gus if he was in love with the woman he cheated on her with, and he told her that he wasn't sure and that she could go home and think about their relationship for a while.
Goldie returned home heartbroken, and the couple separated for a while. However, they eventually got back together, and this time around, Goldie thought it would be the relationship that lasted forever.
Gus and Goldie Reconciled
After Goldie returned from Las Vegas, it seemed there was no way for them to reconcile their relationship. However, because they had a doctor in common, it led them to be with one another again.

Goldie mentioned that after they began talking again, there was a period of about two weeks in which Gus didn't phone her. She decided to call and request to meet him at his apartment as she needed to talk to him.
When she got to the apartment, she confronted Gus, telling him that if he didn't want to see her anymore, he should just say so. She revealed:
"And he looked at me, and in no small talk fashion, he said, 'I don't want to be with you anymore.'"

Goldie told Gus that he never told her what he wanted. He invited her to dinner, where she tried her best to be adorable because she wanted him to like her. She then confirmed that the tactic worked.
They became a couple again and decided to get married, but Goldie revealed that they became more like friends. It was soon after that that Gus suggested to Goldie that they try to have an open marriage.

Goldie admitted that it was after that that they realized that their relationship wouldn't work anymore and it was better for them to separate. She confirmed:
"It was bigger than both of us."
Gus also told Goldie that she would be a star, but she didn't believe him at the time because she was only a dancer. She said she wanted a life and a family, but it was impossible to achieve that with Gus.

They mutually decided that it was time to break up, but they did it amicably, and they were able to be friends. Gus even looked after Goldie's mom after she had breast removal surgery. However, Goldie still had to pay for the divorce.
The Fathers of Goldie's Children
After her relationship with Gus ended, Goldie met Bill Hudson. Bill and Goldie got married the same year her divorce from Gus was finalized, on July 3, 1976. They also welcomed children together.

Bill and Goldie share two children, Oliver, and Kate Hudson. Just four years after their wedding and one year after welcoming their youngest child, Kate, Bill filed for divorce from Goldie.
Since their divorce, Bill's relationship with Goldie and their children has deteriorated to the point that Bill confirmed he doesn't consider Oliver and Kate his children any longer.
Goldie then met Kurt Russell, whom she never married but has been with for many years. The couple has said they will never get married as they don't feel the need to, but they are happy together.

Oliver and Kate consider Kurt, their father and call him "Pa," but he and Goldie also share a son, Wyatt Russell. Wyatt is an actor like everyone else in his family, and his parents are proud of him.
