Sam Michael Fox Is Michael J. Fox's Only Son Who Works in Film Production

While Sam Michael Fox's parents have successful careers in front of the camera, he chose a career behind it in production. After a scary Parkinson's diagnosis, Michael Fox decided to focus his time on Sam and the rest of his family.

Sam's career in acting seemed written in the stars; his father is known for his hit role in "Back to the future," and his mother, Tracy Polland, has a recognizable face from "Family Ties."

Michael was shooting for the "Back to the Future" trilogy when Sam was born, and he was whisked away on shooting trips before he could say his first word. Sam did not stray too far from the film industry and found his niche in production.

Sam Is the Eldest Child in the Family and the Only Son

Sam was born on May 30, 1989, in Los Angeles, California, a year after his parents married. Michael said the couple did "the whole womb musical deal" and introduced Sam to the likes of the Allman Brothers before he was born.

Tracy and Sam were both healthy upon his delivery, and Michael shared that his wife had a "really good pregnancy." They fell in love with being parents, and Tracy and Sam followed Michael all over the place while he was filming. Michael said:

"When he (Sam) was three months old, he flew to Canada, then to New York City, then drove to Martha's Vineyard and Vermont, then flew from New Hampshire back to L.A."

On February 15, 1995, Sam became a big brother for the first time when twin sisters Aquinnah Kathleen and Schuyler Phyllis Fox were born. Sam's third sister, Esme Annabelle Fox, was born on November 3, 2001.

Before he became a big brother, Sam and his parents had to overcome less exciting news- his father's Parkinson's diagnosis. Sam was 2 when his father was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1991. Michael only shared the information with a close circle of people and focused on spending time with his family.

In May, Michael celebrated Sam's 33rd birthday with a throwback picture of Sam in a helmet and a hockey jersey much too big for him. Michael wrote in the caption to Sam:

"I'm so proud to be your Pops."

Sam also used Instagram to share with his 15 thousand followers an unusual tattoo he has of ham. He showed off the ink work in 2013 and said the drawing was courtesy of Jamie Kanzler.

Sam Michael Fox Is Also Associated with the Film Industry

Sam attended Friends Seminary, a private school in Manhattan, and graduated in 2008. In 2012, he graduated from Stanford University, and when he was ten years old, he landed an acting gig as an extra on "Spin City."

In 2017, he was the Head of Partnerships and Integrations for SALIDO, and in 2018 he worked as an Agent Trainee for United Talent Agency.

Years ago, Sam shared that he was not in the film industry but lived and worked in New York City for a company that helps local farmers build online businesses.

He made his way back to film in 2020 and 2021 when he appeared as a producer in the music video "11:11" and the short film "Good Grief." In 2013, he was named Mr. Golden Globe, and he said about his title:

"It's a cool experience, and I'm glad I got the opportunity to do it."

Sam Michael Fox Is Very Close to His Family

The close-knit family often shared pictures of each other on their social media. In 2018, Sam, his mother, and his sisters took a trip to the beach, and he documented the occasion on his Instagram page.

In June, he made another appearance on white sand and blue waters to celebrate his mother's birthday with a smiling mother/ son picture.

His father did not miss out on a birthday shout, and for Michael's birthday in June, Sam joked that he might be taller than his dad, but Michael could still take him in a fight.

The father and son had a good relationship; Sam helped his dad with internet trolls, and Michael put his foot down regarding Sam's dating life and romance rumors between him and Taylor Swift. Michael said he was wary of Swift writing "songs about everybody she goes out with" and urged the singer to "back off" from his son.

What Is Sam Michael Fox Doing Now?

While Michael Fox is a famous actor, Sam chose to work behind the scenes. He currently works as a coordinator for 72nd Street Productions. The company produces films and television projects and shares them on a global marketplace. Sam began working there in February 2021.
