Crowe's fatherhood journey is one of the most rewarding experiences, and he believes being close to one's kids is the best.
Actor and Filmmaker Russell Crowe has succeeded in many things, such as his career, fatherhood, etc., but sadly, marriage is not one of them. The Hollywood star has been through one failed marriage with Actress, Singer, and Songwriter Danielle Spencer.
The former couple first crossed paths in 1989 while filming "The Crossing." Not long after their encounter, Crowe and Spencer became romantically involved, and for the next few years, they dated on and off.

Finally, in 2003, the pair decided that forever was the deal. The "Gladiator" star and his ex-wife exchanged wedding vows in a romantic ceremony at Crowe's house in Nana Glen, South Wales, Australia.
A few months later, in December 2003, Crowe and Spencer welcomed their first child and son, Charles. Then in July 2006, they expanded their family with the arrival of their second child, Tennyson. Following the birth of their sons, Crowe and Spencer tried to raise them happily.
Unfortunately, the happiness lasted only for a few years. In October 2012, after nine years of marital bliss, the pair called it quits, but it took over five years to finalize the divorce.

The actor hinted at the divorce finalization by celebrating the split in one of the most unexpected ways. Crowe put up 200 items he had gotten during his marriage in an auction known as The Art of Divorce; the items comprised collections of furniture, artworks, clothing, watches, guitars, and memorabilia.
After selling them off, Crowe realized a whopping $3.7 million. About two months after the auction, he made the official announcement via a Twitter post. In his words (via Closer Weekly):
"Yesterday, April 9, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight time (Aus)... I officially became divorced. Thank you, linesmen. Thank you, ball boys."

In the years following Crowe and Spencer's divorce, the movie stars maintained a cordial relationship, which was important to the latter. According to the Australian actress, she and the filmmaker had known each other since their teenage years and went through a lot together.
So, for Spencer, it would not have been good if she and Crowe could not come together and do important things as parents for their kids. Hence, her decision to remain on good terms with the actor.

Crowe and Spencer are focused on their individual lives and looking after their children amicably. The former is also interested in helping people by giving them money. Here are the details.
Crowe Saves a Couple's Struggling Business
Crowe recently made the headlines after saving a couple's business from crumbling. On October 6, 2022, Leanne Fridd, the owner of Booksbugs And Dragon Tales Bookshop, started a crowd funder to help raise money for her struggling business.
The show usually begins in the first week of January, but for Crowe, the period between Christmas and the New Year is special for him and his sons.
According to Daily Mail, the woman hoped to raise about £15,000 (over $16,000). Unknown to the struggling business owner, she would receive a third of her finding goal in a matter of hours from someone she least expected — Crowe.
The actor donated £5,000 ($5,500), leaving the owners lost for words. Fridd revealed that she and her husband, Dan, were already emotional about the little donations from others.
But when she received Crowe's donation at about 10:30 p.m., it was mind-blowing. According to Fridd, they could not fathom what was happening but remained thankful. For Fridd and her husband, the money will go a long way in helping to get her bookshop back on its feet.
Once her business improves, Fridd says she'll do some good, like giving books to children who cannot access them through the bookshop's Dorothy Amery Readers Awards Programme.
Meanwhile, Crowe's $5500 donation is not the first time he is helping someone in need. In 2020, the actor donated almost $3,300 to Harry Pritchard's GoFundMe.
The young lad had gotten into LAMDA, a drama school, and needed help paying his $15,500 fees, so he started a GoFundMe. Thankfully, the actor came across Pritchard's plea and decided to help.
Crowe's donation went a long way, and the icon did not stop there. He also tagged his friend and businessman, Terry George, who dropped quite a substantial amount. Pritchard showed appreciation for the support he received. According to him at the time:
"It made me feel so humbled and thankful and happy, and I cannot stop smiling. I've sent a thank you message to Russell in a state of shock and disbelief, and I've spoken with Terry, who reached out to give me his best wishes."

Inside Crowe's Fatherhood and His New Relationship
Crowe may be busy due to his thriving career, but when it comes to his children, Charles, 18, and Tennyson, 16, he devotes time to making memories with them.
He has proven his intentionality about his children in many ways, including missing out on the awards show circuit in Hollywood.
The show usually begins in the first week of January, but for Crowe, the period between Christmas and the New Year is special for him and his sons. According to him, being close to one's kids is one of the coolest feelings ever.
Although Charles and Tennyson spend most of their time with Spencer in Australia, because they are settled, he still gets to spend some time with his kids, which means everything.
Meanwhile, after going through a failed marriage, Crowe is dating again. The actor is romantically involved with Brittney Theriot, whom he met in 2013 on the set of "Broken City."
The lovebirds have been together since November 2020, and although their relationship is official, not much is known about it, as they prefer to keep things private.
