Jamie Lee Curtis Is 'Proudest' Mom of 2 Kids Though She Regretted Repeating Her Parents' Mistakes
Hollywood's leading lady Jamie Lee Curtis had a troublesome childhood, and although when she had children of her own and wanted to do things differently to her parents, she found herself in their shoes.
Per Pop Sugar, veteran actress Jamie Lee Curtis and her daughters, Annie Guest and Ruby Guest, made an appearance at the "Halloween Ends" premiere debut at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on October 11, 2022.
The trio looked lovely dressed up for the occasion and held hands while posing for photographs on the red carpet.

Jaime donned a red beaded Ralph Lauren gown, and her youngest child Ruby opted for a silver dress paired with a black jacket.
Meanwhile, her oldest daughter coordinated with her sibling, wearing a black strapless dress with silver roses on the bodice.
On the night of the event, the doting mom posted a picture alongside her daughters and penned on her Instagram account that she was a proud parent, adding that her daughters have been supportive:
"My family. Proudest mother. Loving support."
Jaime's Motherhood Regrets
In a candid interview with USA Today in October 2014, Jaime recalled being a new mom while having to juggle marriage and a demanding acting job:
"I think I was replicating my mom and really trying to just make everybody happy."
The mother of two remembered her stint in the comedy film, "A Fish Called Wanda," in 1987, which left her miserable. She endured mom guilt because she had to leave her infant child to go to work which was "an hour away," and would spend hours on set only to return to her sleeping baby.
"My memory of 'A Fish Called Wanda' is that I cried every day to and from work. My memory of 'A Fish Called Wanda' was leaving my sleeping 6-month-old daughter, going to work an hour away and then working 12 hours, sometimes more, and then an hour back, often to a child asleep again," Jaime revealed.
The California native's busy routine mirrored her overworked mother's behavior. She noted motherhood made her feel like a failure because she was attributing the same things that her parents did when she grew up to her kids.

Jaime told Good Housekeeping in September 2012 that even though she tried her best, "I have replicated parts of how I was parented [that I didn't want to]," adding:
"Even though I vowed not to and felt like I was doing it so differently, in many ways, I repeated some of the problems."
The "My Girl" star has many regrets about raising her two adopted daughters, whom she shares with her husband, Christopher Guest.
Jaime Had a Strained Relationship with Her Father, Tony Curtis
Jaime is the daughter of actress Janet Leigh and actor Tony Curtis. The "Freaky Friday" star made quite an impression during her teenage years as a rising star in Hollywood after following her parents' footsteps.
The two-time Golden Globe Award winner's stint in the movie "Trading Places" received critical acclaim, but her role in "Halloween" made her a star at just age 19. She even garnered a rave review from The Washington Post's Gary Arnold via Rolling Stone, who wrote:
"The 19-year-old daughter of Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis was more suggestive of a melancholy, ungainly, young Lauren Bacall."
In August 1994, Jaime revealed to People that her mom "instilled a lot of good, concrete values," which include respecting others, treating them how she would want them to treat her, and "the importance of family and friends."
The starlet was only three years old when her parents divorced in 1962 after eleven years of marriage. When she became a teenager, her relationship with her father was almost non-existent:
"[My father became] a stranger, then a real stranger, then an enemy."

Tony himself admitted that his substance addiction and prolonged absence contributed to his relationship with his daughter falling apart. "I didn't see much of her as a child," he explained.
The New York native described his daughter as "interesting - introverted at one point, different." He divulged that he and Jamie only formed a friendship when "she was 17 or 18."
That said, the father and daughter duo only mended their relationship through drugs. Jamie told Variety in November 2019 that none of Tony's other kids spoke to him except for her, and they ended up taking cocaine together.

However, Tony became sober for a short while and was "active in recovery for about three years." Jamie noted that his recovery was short-lived.
Sadly, Tony passed away in September 2010, and following his death, Jamie revealed during an appearance on "The Talk" via E! News Online that he was barely a dad:
"He was not a father. He was not interested in being a father."

According to the outlet, an insider disclosed that Jamie and Tony "were not close. Ever." Despite the rift between the pair, Jamie spoke highly of her parents in a social media post in January 2022.
She shared a black and white photo of her mom and dad and wrote a lengthy caption detailing the love they gave her as a child.
Jamie stated her sister had sent her the image, adding that whenever she receives unexpected pictures of them: "I am caught by not only their extreme beauty but their deep love and ambition."
Jamie said that irrespective of the multiple divorces in her immediate family and the confusion of what love is after that, deep down, she knows that "I was born from love and not resentment, competition, jealousy, and rancor."
Jaime Found a Gig That Allowed Her to Stay at Home
Thankfully, Jaime eventually found a way to break the cycle of over-exerting herself while juggling parenthood. Per Today, during an appearance on "The Kingcast" podcast revealed she opted for commercials to be able to spend more time with her family.
"It allowed me to earn money and stay home," she said of her commercial gigs. Jaime added that spending most of her time on movie sets "took its toll" on her emotionally.
Today, both her daughters are all grown up. Jaime and her screenwriter spouse adopted the children following infertility issues.
Per People, the loving mom revealed in her cover story for AARP The Magazine's August/September 2021 issue that her youngest daughter Ruby came out as transgender. Jaime said she and Christopher "have watched in wonder and pride as our son became our daughter, Ruby." Both the couple's kids are now happily married.
