The fourth season of Gotham Garage's "Car Masters: Rust to Riches" was recently released. Although the cars that are worked on in the series change all the time, one thing that remains constant is the crew that works on them. The team works together to transform seemingly useless cars into huge paychecks.

Despite its appearance on TV, Gotham Garage is a real-life auto repair shop, and it already existed before being picked up by Netflix in 2018. Opened in 1998 by its founder Mark Towle, the garage is located in Temecula, California. Since its appearance on Netflix, the popularity of the garage has grown, and so has the show on TV.

The "Car Masters: Rust to Riches" TV show, which has just had its fifth season confirmed for 2023, follows the exploits of Gotham Garage as they seek to give cars a modern makeover and sell them for a more significant profit. Contributing to the success are its extremely talented crew members led by Towle.

Mark Towle

Mark Towle is the brains behind the garage, having established it in 1998. He is a California native and was born in 1962. A man from humble beginnings, his family's financial struggles saw him going around and salvaging thrown-away gadgets and toys, which he would redesign and rebuild into more beautiful things.

Those were the early signs of his career of brilliant ingenuity and entrepreneurship skills. However, his professional working days began in the movie and television industry, where he built prop cars. After earning enough money, he returned to the ways of his younger days and started Gotham Garage to continue that dream.

Towle has created many incredible one-off cars, including his car, a 1969 Ford Mustang. The black-painted beauty with furious-looking red stripes is the same model as the one used by Keanu Reeves in the hit movie "John Wick." Towle's creations are not just limited to cars; he can also work his magic on boats and motorcycles.

Among his most prized possession is his Harley Davidson Dyna Street Bob which he affectionately calls Linda.

The most reserved team member, Shawan Pilot, has a modest following of almost 28k followers on Instagram. Although he often posts his work there, he has also put up his mother, Carol, an automobile enthusiast herself. His mother made an emotional appearance as a guest in the 4th season of "Car Masters."

One of the more famous members of the Gotham Garage, Michael Pyle, has an Instagram following of more than 90k. His nickname "Caveman" comes from how he looks with his long hair and huge beard. He is also considered the team's comic and is adored by fans due to his friendly and approachable character.

Born on April 8, 1969, in Moreno Valley, California, he is the third oldest team member behind Towle and Pilot. According to his Facebook profile, he resides in Murrieta, California. On the show, he works primarily as a handyman and uses his magnificent skills to revamp even the unlikeliest vehicles.

Along with working in the Gotham Garage and appearing on Netflix, Pyle launched his clothing line. The clothing line, conveniently named Club Caveman, spots t-shirts with his face printed. Pyle prefers motorcycles over cars, and his most prized possession is his Harley Davidson Dyna Street Bob which he affectionately calls Linda.
