Danny Trejo's Girlfriends and Wives - A Closer Look at His Personal Life
Fans are curious about actor Danny Trejo's girlfriend. Last year, he made headlines when he appeared on the Instagram of stunning British filmmaker Nadia Lee Cohen.
Danny Trejo has captivated the public for decades. Born in Los Angeles, he used to live a troubled life and was in and out of jail for 11 years. But while inside bars, he turned his life around by training as a boxer.
He made his acting breakthrough after being cast as a convict extra in the movie "Runway Train" (1985). It wasn't long before Danny rose to fame in Hollywood and became known for his colorful love life.
Does Danny Trejo Have a Girlfriend Now?
Danny is currently keeping his personal life private, and little is known about whether he is dating anyone. However, the actor's alleged love life hit the headlines in 2021 when photos of him with Nadia Lee Cohen surfaced on Instagram.
Nadia is a British artist, photographer, and filmmaker whose work is influenced by pop culture. Her Instagram profile featured images from magazines starring celebrities such as Kim Kardashian.
However, Danny drew public attention after being featured on Nadia's Instagram page. In the photos she posted, the British photographer kissed Danny as she posed by the pool's ladder.
Nadia then captioned her photos, "It's summer." Although the eye-grabbing photos made Trejo's fans wonder whether the pair were an item, fans realized it was all part of Nadia's photoshoot years ago.
Nadia first shared the photos in 2017 before she reposted them four years later. She previously stated that kissing Trejo was the most memorable moment of her career.
Danny Trejo's Girlfriends and Wives before His Fame
Danny's memoir, "My Life of Crime, Redemption, and Hollywood," was published in 2021 and chronicles his career and personal life, including his three former wives before his Hollywood fame.
Debbie Shreve Trejo was the most well-known of Danny's wives.
In his autobiography, Danny first dated Laura, his best friend Frank's younger sister, after the veteran actor was released from prison for drugs in 1962.
Laura came from a family that disliked Mexicans and convicts, but she disobeyed her parents for Danny. As a result, Laura's parents kicked her out of their house.
Danny ended up marrying Laura because she didn't have any other options. Circumstances between Danny and his first wife changed a few months after they married.
Laura caught Danny with two women on the couch, reportedly with drugs around them, and left him. Drugs had gotten Danny into trouble at the time, and he had ended up back in prison.
Frank, disappointed in his best friend, strongly urged him to stay as far away from his sister as possible. Laura divorced Danny while he was in prison.
Danny later married his second wife, cartoonist Debbie. Their marriage, like his first, did not work out. Following that, he met Joanne in 1978 at a treatment program in the San Fernando Valley, California.
He then married Joanne, his third wife. However, Joanne left him after three years of marriage. His second and third wives left him due to his past life involving illegal substances. Danny also revealed why they left him after realizing a pattern of failed marriages:
"I was jealous and a cheater."
Danny has three children from different women: Danny Boy, Esmeralda, and Jose. All three of his children are little known because they chose a life away from the spotlight.
In Danny Boy's case, however, he has supported his father's businesses, and his mother reportedly lived in Lompoc. Esmeralda and Jose's mother are still unknown.
