On October 28, 2022, Julia Roberts celebrated her 55th birthday by taking a fresh new photo of herself to her Instagram account. In the image, the actress showed part of herself and her home.
She was seen wearing eyeglasses as she sipped something from a white cup. Judging by the look in her eyes, Roberts appeared to be smiling as she looked straight at the camera.

In the background, birthday balloons were visible in two shades of pink and gold. The star captioned her post noting how she was "feeling the love and the magic" on her 55th birthday before adding:
"My cup runneth over."
The star probably spent the significant day surrounded by her loving husband and their three children. Die-hard fans know that the actress became a first-time mother at a later age in her life.
How Julia Roberts Became Mom to Her Twins and Son When She Was Almost 40
After being with her husband, Danny Moder, for almost two years, Roberts' spokesperson noted that the couple were expecting twins. Marcy Engelman revealed that the actress was expected to give birth in 2005.
The couple's twins and her first children, Hazel and Phinnaues Moder arrived much earlier on November 28, 2004. The star was 37 when she became a first-time mother, and she explained how she'd chosen her children's names.
Roberts said the name Hazel was old-fashioned, and the little girl was perfect and strong. Her husband wanted to name their little boy Finn, but the actress thought it sounded more like a nickname, so she wanted him to have a proper one, and then they could use the one Danny chose for the boy.
In December 2006, People magazine noted motherhood as the star's biggest priority. Marc Platt, her longtime friend and the producer of "Three Days of Rain" explained further, stating:
"The kids bring her such a sense of fulfilment and joy. It's wonderful to see."
The following June, People revealed that Roberts had welcomed a baby boy named Henry Daniel Moder at age 39. The star's third child was born, weighing 8½ lbs, in Los Angeles.
Marcy Engelman, her representative, said the family was doing well. Despite being a big celebrity, the actress was just an ordinary parent who was quite family orientated.
How Julia Roberts Built Her Dream Family Life
In 2013, USA Today noted how Roberts rarely shared images of her three children on social media, nor did she post where she was or going. When a friend gifted her a copy of J.D. Salinger's short stories, she physically wrote a thank-you note on paper!
The "Pretty Woman" star knew how to disappear from the busy life of Hollywood and when she did, she and her family could be found in one of their homes. At the time, the actress lived in Manhattan, California, or New Mexico, with her stating:
"We try to protect our kids. We just want to have our family life and not have that intruded upon."
Danny's wife believed she got "lucky" because she was too old for the "internet age" or the "strange culture" of celebrities. She was happy about it and felt it helped; she was from a different and particular age.
In 2010, Roberts revealed how devoted she was to her children. Her wake-up calls in the early morning had become "sweeter" since she became a parent, and she loved watching the trio wake up to a new morning.
The "Eat, Pray, Love" star said her family was wondrous, kind, angelic, dear, and heavenly! At age 43, Danny's wife had taken up sewing to keep her brain "firm," and she'd made pillows for her children and pants for her husband!

She might be a celebrity, but she took on good ordinary wife and mother roles. Speaking to InStyle in 2018, Roberts revealed how important it was for her to eat breakfast and dinner with her children daily.
She felt the meals allowed them to start things together before processing and to wind down at the end of the day. The star also met her husband at work and thought 12 was a good age to get children their first cell phones, like Hazel.
In a Sunday Morning interview in 2022, Roberts said her family and career were essential but not equally. She revealed how acting hadn't "consumed" her and that it was her dream come true but not the only one.

The actress said she had other dreams, like the life she built with her husband of then-20 years and their children. Roberts loved coming home "triumphantly" to her family at the end of the day and called it the "best stuff."
That same year was also the first time she appeared in a romantic comedy. For the movie "Ticket to Paradise," the star reunited with her longtime friend and fellow actor, George Clooney.
