Luna Encinas Cruz Can't Be Found on Social Media – Facts about Penelope Cruz's Daughter with Javier Bardem
Luna Encinas Cruz is the daughter of Academy Award winners Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, and her parents shield her from social media.
Luna Encinas Cruz, Penélope Cruz's daughter, may well be one of the most famous little girls on the planet. Still, unlike other daughters of celebrity couples, like Suri Cruise Holmes, her face is unknown to her parents' millions of fans.
Luna is the second child of Oscar-winning and multiple Academy Award nominees Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, both Spanish, beautiful, and loaded with talent. We can only imagine what their children look like because they have never been photographed.

Luna's Parents
Luna's mother, Penélope Cruz, famous for her sultry beauty and dazzling acting ability, was born on April 28, 1974, in Alcobendas, Spain. Penélope has two siblings who just happen to be famous too: sister Mónica Cruz, an actress, and brother Eduardo Cruz, a singer.
Penélope started acting as a very young girl and quickly gained fame in her native Spain with several TV roles, followed by castings in movies like "Belle ÉpoqueL," "The Greek Labyrinth," and "Open Your Eyes."
Even for herself and her husband, Penélope explained, social media is used selectively and carefully to share information about their work or philanthropic endeavors, and never about their private lives.
Her breakthrough into international cinema came with her role as a pregnant nun in Pedro Almodovar's "All About My Mother" in 1999, which led to her first leads in American movies, "All the Pretty Horses," and "Woman on Top."
She went on to co-star with Tom Cruise in "Vanilla Sky," win an Oscar for Woody Allen's "Vicky, Cristina Barcelona," and act in Disney's iconic "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."

Luna's dad, Javier Bardem, was born in the Canary Islands, Spain, on March 1, 1969. Bardem's father is a director and part of a dynasty of actors that have been working in film since the beginning of Spanish cinema.
Bardem became director Biga Lunas' fetish actor and starred in several of his films, "The Ages of Lulu," "Jamón Jamón," and "Golden Balls." His international breakthrough came in 2007 in the Coen brothers' "No Country for Old Men."
He played a sociopathic assassin with such conviction that he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and became the first Spanish recipient of an Oscar.
Bardem has become one of the most influential actors in international cinema and won a BAFTA, a Golden Globe, Best Actor in Cannes and Venice, and an Oscar out of four Academy Award nominations.

A Sweet Love Story
In 1992, Penélope's first film, "Jamón, jamón," had her co-starring with an actor, Javier Bardem. The actress was then just 16, and Bardem was 23, and even though the two shot torrid love scenes, no relationship developed.
Years after both had launched successful international careers, they would be brought back to their native Spain to co-star in Woody Allen's 2008 film, "Vicky Cristina Barcelona."
The two would later confess that even though they were attracted to each other, they kept their relationship professional throughout the shoot. The sparks flew at a celebratory wrap dinner, and they started dating.
Characteristically, the two kept their romance discreet, and their first public appearance was at the 2010 Goya Awards. That same year, they headed for the Bahamas and tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in July 2010, attended only by their nearest and dearest.
Birth of Luna
On July 22, 2013, Penélope and Bardem welcomed their daughter Luna Encinas Cruz. Luna was born in Madrid, Spain, and her parents made the doctors at the hospital sign confidentiality agreements.
Even though she would not share any information about her child, Penélope did reveal that she intended to breastfeed her daughter. She said:
"I was breastfeeding my son (Leonardo) 13 months, and I plan to do the same with my daughter, Luna."
Penélope, nominated for an Oscar for her role in the 2021 Pedro Almodovar film "Parallel Mothers," and who played an adoring mom in "Pain and Glory," will not allow photos of her children, Luna or Leonardo, to be published.
Luna Is a Younger Sister
If the famous couple were cagey about Luna, they were even more so about their first child, son Leonardo Encinas Cruz. Leonardo was born at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles on January 23, 2011, just six months after his parents' wedding.
Penélope shot "Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides" when she was six months pregnant with Leonardo, so he's already had his screen debut.
Penélope and Bardem are determined to protect their children from social media, which they believe is addictive. In an interview, Penélope revealed:
"I'm very tough with my children with technology."
The actress explained that she believes the excess of information on social media, presented without moral or ethical context, can be damaging to children. She wants to protect her children from online bullying.
The Cruz kids don't have cell phones and will not be allowed social media accounts until they are over 16. Mom and dad allow them to watch movies, but access to the internet is only for school work.
The actress feels that the internet and social media have become a gigantic social experiment that will be damaging to children in the long run, depriving them of normal, active childhoods.
Even for herself and her husband, Penélope explained, social media is used selectively and carefully to share information about their work or philanthropic endeavors and never about their private lives.
