'My head bangs every time I lay down,' Van Dyke once said about his health.
In October 2022, Daily Mail reported how Dick Van Dyke, then 96, continued showing generosity to others. The publication noted how he was seen buying and then dropping off winter coats to those in need.
His kind gesture came weeks after he handed out $5 bills to homeless people and job seekers. The Hollywood legend bought a couple of red and black plaid coats at a store before dropping them off at a nonprofit organization.

His previous act of kindness saw him outside the same Malibu building handing out cash and chatting with those in need. Van Dyke's gesture brought joy to workers and some homeless people who were close by.
The "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" actor explained that he'd go by the building whenever he had some $5 notes to hand them out. However, he said it wasn't something he could always do.
An employee at the center shared, "[I] Just call him [an] angel from God." However, the humble star brushed off the kind comment with his trademark modesty before waving goodbye and leaving.
Fans who replied to Daily Mail's Facebook post about the television personality's selfless act were thrilled with what he did. One person thought he was "kind," while another believed we needed more people like Van Dyke in the world.
A Facebook fan shared how they loved the actor and described him as a "wonderful man." Another person thought "giving back" soothed the soul, and the fan might've had a point because Van Dyke's health hasn't been excellent, but he was still going strong.

The pair became friends, and over the years, they fell in love, with the actor telling RumorFix.com, "She keeps up with me." On February 29, 2012, Leap Day, the couple tied the knot with Van Dyke explaining:
