Barr was the lead character in the fan-favorite sitcom, "Roseanne," but after the actress tweeted a racist remark and compared former President Barack Obama's former advisor Valerie Jarrett to an ape, she lost it.

Barr has been open about her support for former president Donald Trump. But she blamed her distasteful joke on her bad health and lack of emotional balance. She said it sounded funny at the moment, but she missed the mark. She also said she thought Jarrett was white.

In response to Jarrett, Barr said, "I recognize she thinks I wronged her," but initiating a public apology was frustrating because she was ridiculed for the same thing repeatedly.

However, amid the controversy, Barr apologized and cited she was leaving Twitter. The actress expressed that the backlash ended her career and life, but she was proud to have overcome it.

The journey was not easy for the actress; along the way, she confessed to gaining more weight, but she did not punish herself for it. Instead, she continued to work hard.

The comedian shared that her life-changing diet included being more active and eating healthier. Her goal was to continue maintaining a healthy lifestyle because she loved how much lighter she felt. She shared a photo of her rocking a black and red floral dress that showed off her body, and captioned it, "feeling good, looking better."

Barr said it gives her a reason to be pushier, but she wants her grandchildren to have a good and healthy upbringing, with a successful love life and the joy of being a grandmother going for her.

Barr went back to doing stand-up. Her first return since her racist tweet was in Las Vegas, where she joined her fellow comedian, Andrew Dice Clay. Even though it was her first performance after ABC fired her, Barr was not afraid to speak on her dismissal or continue making controversial statements.

The comedian seems naturally outspoken and not afraid to say what is on her mind. Her book, "Roseannearchy: Dispatches from the Nut Farm," is a fearless account of her opinions about class warfare, feminism, and expectations of celebrity life.
