65-year-old Roseanne Barr’s battle with weight is well known seeing as she carried as many as 300lbs at one point in her life. When she was at her heaviest, Barr was so concerned that she underwent gastric bypass surgery to get rid of some of the weight in 1998. While the surgery was successful and she lost more than half the weight she was carrying, Barr was not able to keep it away for long. It has been fluctuating since but the actress/producer finally decided to work on herself once and for all from 2011.

According to a Radar insider, the comedian started walking thousands of steps a day plus other exercises in a bid to achieve her goal. She also changed her diet, eating smaller and mostly vegetarian meals. Today, Barr’s determination and sacrifice have paid off and her massive weight loss is evident in her sharper jawline and much happier demeanor.

On top of getting rid of over 150lbs and keeping it gone, the comedian received good news about her eyesight. For years, Barr knew that she was losing her sight to glaucoma, thanks to a diagnosis from her doctor. She recently decided to get a second opinion just to know whether there was anything that could be done to salvage her sight, but she found out that the initial diagnosis was wrong! Barr told People Magazine that the doctor said the problem could be solved with surgery.

“She told me I don’t have macular degeneration, but rather a mole on the inside of my eye that’s growing, and that’s why my vision is narrowing. Probably in the next year or so I can get it removed. I have a bad eye, but I’m not losing my eyesight.”

Congratulations to Barr on her extraordinary achievement. Talk to us in comments.
