"The mama came up with the bear bit. That made sense to me because he's from me and I feel like I am part of the bear clan. And I think it's nice to have a little bit of earth in your name."

Everly's parents dated for four years, from 2004 to 2008. During this time, there were allegations that the singer was seeing another model, Jessica Stam.

Before Everly's birth, the Marc Jacobs model—Stam—was photographed topless during a getaway with Anthony at the Caribbean island of St. Barts.

Everly was a constant feature in his dad's tour band at eight years old. Anthony recalled that while they had fun on stage, his mini-me also spent time studying and was allowed to be a child. The singer compared touring in the 80s to how liberating it feels in present times.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman added that he had gained a lot from his son, who is "a gift" to him. In an honest tone, he quipped, "I feel like I get more than I give, I try to give him a lot, but I feel like I still get more… I'm fuller now."
