Jay Hernandez Is the Star of the "Magnum P.I." Reboot

Although married for a long time, Hernandez still gets to taste bachelor life through his work on "Magnum P.I." While filming, he and his on-screen best friend and co-star, Zachary Knighton, shared an apartment in Honolulu, Hawaii. Knighton said of their set-up:

"We call it 'Lambda Lambda Lambda' – that's the name of our house. We're like sister wives now. When I go home, I am going to prepare some sort of dinner for my sister-wife, Jay Hernandez. He'll come home. We'll have a little food [...]."

Hernandez has several small and big screen credits, including "Crazy/Beautiful" in 2001, where he starred alongside Kirsten Dunst. His other roles are in "The Rookie," "Torque," "Ladder 49," "Friday Night Lights," and "Hostel," among many others.

The original "Magnum P.I." saw Hollywood legend Tom Selleck bring Thomas Sullivan's Magnum IV to life in Hawaii. Although a new actor is taking the main role, the reboot maintained some of the '80s series' plot.

Alongside Hernandez on the show are Knighton, Stephen Hill, and Perdita Weeks, who stars as Juliet Higgins. Fans would be delighted to know that the series pilot episode had "Fast and the Furious" franchise director Justin Lin in charge.

CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl revealed that they had five remakes lined up alongside their new show releases. "Shows that are big, loud, and noisy and that are creatively terrific, those are the shows we're going to want to continue to do moving forward," she said.
