Who Is Fabien Viteri? A Look Back at Carrie Ann Inaba's Relationship with Her Ex-boyfriend

Fabien Viteri is Carrie Ann Inaba's former boyfriend, who left a huge impact on her life. Even though they are no longer together, fans will always have a soft spot for the ex-couple.

True and lasting love appears to be elusive for Carrie Ann Inaba, a successful TV presenter, singer, dancer, and actress. The multihyphenate has been engaged twice: first to accountant Jesse Sloan and then to actor Robb Derringer.

Besides Sloan and Derringer, Inaba dated Artem Chigvintsev, a professional dancer, but the relationship didn't work out. The TV personality's last known boyfriend was Fabien Viteri, whom she met two years ago.

Carrie Met Fabien during the Pandemic

During the pandemic, Inaba ran into Viteri. During an interview for "Live with Kelly and Ryan" in 2020, the TV star said they first met while walking their dogs. They each lived a few blocks away from each other.

Inaba said Viteri is much older than her and a wonderful person. At the time, Inaba said she was lucky to meet someone during quarantine because she would not be alone dealing with the global health crisis. She spoke of their relationship:

"We have separate space, and we're taking it slow, and it's really great."

Amid the pandemic, Inaba also spoke about how she spent time with Viteri and the latter's adorable dog. She said Viteri enjoys outdoor activities such as camping and road trips in his big car.

Starting in the summer of 2020, Inaba and Viteri had an on-again, off-again relationship.

Over the summer, the couple camped in his backyard and at Lake Casitas in Ojai, California. She said she felt better whenever she was with Viteri and noted that their relationship was healthy.

In the first episode of the eleventh season of "The Talk," Inaba thanked her co-host, Sharon Osbourne, for wishing for her to find love again. Osbourne's wish came true when Viteri came into Inaba's life.

Carrie and Fabien Briefly Split in May 2021 but Got Back Together Almost Immediately

In May 2021, Inaba declared that she was single again in a heartbreaking Instagram post. At the time, Inaba was absent from the CBS daytime show to focus on her health.

She revealed how she felt about the breakup in a series of slides that included pictures of her and Viteri. She called their relationship a "gift" and said she was trying to stay strong while dealing with emotions brought about by the split.

However, a week later, the two were seen spending time together in public in Los Angeles. It seemed like things were going well again between Inaba and Viteri as they walked next to each other through an empty parking lot.

The following month, Inaba appeared to confirm reconciliation rumors by putting up photos of the two of them looking happy together while cuddling. She added an emoji of a red heart and another of hands raised in prayer.

Carrie Officially Called It Quits with Fabien a Year Later

Inaba and Viteri rekindled their romance, but just for a year before Inaba ended their relationship for good. Starting in the summer of 2020, Inaba and Viteri had an on-again, off-again relationship.

In June 2022, Inaba confirmed she broke up again with Viteri amidst her long-term health issues, such as fibromyalgia, lupus, and the autoimmune disease Sjogren's syndrome.

She said, though, that she had "never felt happier" since she decided to end her relationship with Viteri and focus on her health. Inaba is now content with her life and said:

"I am happier than I have ever been...I am really settled. I am 54, and yes, I am single."

Carrie Ann Inaba continued, saying she used her time during the pandemic to think deeply about her life, focus on the parts of herself that weren't so good, and make the needed changes.

The TV personality stated that she was also pleased with herself for having the courage to make choices that resonated positively with her.
