Ortega was born in Coachella Valley, California, on September 27, 2002. She expressed a passion for acting at a very young age. The thought of Ortega being in a relationship with Doohan may have been far-fetched. However, the actress has been linked to two other young celebrities, and speculators had a stronger case on those occasions. The first rumor popped up after Ortega was frequently seen with actor Asher Angel.

The duo would go on what some people thought were dates. For example, on Halloween in 2018, they were spotted dressed up as Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson at Universal Horror Nights. They showed up at a fashion show and appeared on the red carpet together, which only fuelled the rumors.
