Kirstie Alley and Parker Stevenson's marriage may not have been built to last. Still, Stevenson has recently acknowledged the good that came from his relationship with the mother of his children.
After Alley passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022, Stevenson took to social media to share a picture of the couple when they were still together and share his thoughts on losing his ex-wife.

Stevenson and Alley met in a bar when they were younger. She didn't know who he was at the time but told her roommate that she would die for him when she saw him. They ended up dancing all night.
Stevenson said being around Alley was lovely because she had passion and conviction about what she was doing, and he no longer felt like that about his career. He also said she looked strong but was sweet.
A friend of the former couple said that they started beautifully. The friend mentioned that they constantly challenged each other. Once, they jumped into a pool fully clothed and joked that they were crazy.
They had a beautiful marriage in the beginning and even started a family together. However, the spark they felt in the beginning for one another was not enough for them to remain together for the rest of their lives.
Alley and Stevenson's Married Life
Alley and Stevenson had trouble throughout their married life. They could not have their own children, and they adopted two children. However, just two years after they adopted their daughter, the couple announced their split.

Many factors parted the couple, and Stevenson expressed his sadness at having had to end his marriage with the mother of his children. At the time, Alley did not share her thoughts.
Alley suffered a miscarriage before she and Stevenson decided to adopt their children. The couple lived a good life together, but their marriage did not last as they were too different from one another.
Before they divorced, Stevenson said that when he came back from filming a movie, his wife did not touch him for a while, and his son stared at him as if he wasn't sure who his father was. He said it was because he had to shave his head for a movie.

The couple seemed happy before their divorce, and nobody knew they were unhappy. Just before they divorced, Alley described their relationship as "romantic" and said Stevenson took great care of her.
After the couple divorced, Stevenson said that he did not know how he and Alley managed to stay together as long as they did because they were the "exact opposite" of one another.

He said it was exciting but didn't make for a good marriage. Following their divorce, Stevenson talked about how he and Alley were getting along by saying:
"Kirstie and I are not friends now, but we talk regularly about the kids. Will we be friends one day? I don't know."

Stevenson said that he would like his ex-wife to be happy, but he still regrets losing his marriage. He said he felt upset that he made vows before God and had to break those vows.
Stevenson Pays Tribute to Alley
On December 5, 2022, Alley sadly lost her short battle with cancer. Her children mentioned that she had only recently learned that she had cancer and had passed away surrounded by her family and friends.
Many people sent tributes to Alley and her family after the news of her death broke. One of them was Stevenson. He shared a photo of the couple when they were much younger and still married.
He shared the photo on his Instagram page and talked about how he and his ex-wife were before her death. He said:
"I am so grateful for our years together and for the two incredibly beautiful children and now grandchildren that we have."
The couple shares two adopted children and three grandchildren, which Alley was incredibly proud of. Her first grandchild was born in 2016, and she immediately began sharing photos of the little tot.
After her grandson was born, she shared photos of him often and talked about how much she loved the little boy. She also said how proud she was of her children and how proud she was to be a grandmother.
She had shared many photos of all her grandchildren before her death. She talked about how much she appreciated being a grandmother and how grateful she was to have her children and grandchildren around.
Alley often shared her life on social media but also said she was aware of how rude people were and knew that she might be insulted by people if she posted her grandchildren, but assured fans that they were cute.
Alley became a mother for the first time in 1992 when she and Stevenson adopted their son. His name is William True Stevenson, but he goes by his middle name. They then welcomed their daughter, Lillie.
When Stevenson and Alley divorced in 1997, although Stevenson said they were not friends, they continued to share joint custody of their children. They co-parented their children until adulthood.
Alley had an excellent relationship with both of her children. She often spoke about how proud her children made her. Her Facebook and Twitter pages were filled with photos and videos of her children.
Her children also thought their mother was wonderful and said in her death announcement that they felt they had inherited Alley's love for life. They also said she was an even better mother than she was an actress.
Once, on Mother's Day, Alley's daughter took to Instagram to share a photo of herself and her mother to wish her a Happy Mother's Day. The photo was of Lillie and Alley when they were much younger as Lillie sat atop a bike as Alley supported her.
