They also mentioned that the two little ones are excited about Christmas and the family would spend the holiday together.

George's Reaction When He Found Out He'd Have Twins at 56

George and Amal never really planned on having children before they got married. They admitted that they never considered or talked about the possibility until after they tied the knot. The two only broached the topic later, and George shared:

"After the wedding, Amal and I were talking and we just felt we'd gotten very lucky, both of us, and we should share whatever good luck we've got. It would seem self-centered to just have that belong to us."

In 2017, the pair had their twins, although they didn't know what they were getting into at first. The "Burn After Reading" actor recalled that they were in the doctor's office, receiving the results of an ultrasound when they found out.

The actor and his wife also mentioned they are trying to keep their children's lives as private as possible.

They went to a doctor in London, and everything seemed straightforward initially. When they saw the results, the medical practitioner showed them the first baby, which they were expecting. When he showed them the second, the actor was stunned:

"I was like, 'What?' We just sat there, staring at that piece of paper they give you, and I kept thinking there was a mistake."

That said, he adjusted quickly, and when they were born, he took to his new role quite well. He even mentioned he's "a very good diaper guy." However, having children at 56 still caused him to have a shift in perspective.

The actor and his wife also mentioned they are trying to keep their children's lives as private as possible. They very rarely allow reporters to see the two, and they don't take them to public events.

Having children made him feel like he was on top of the world. George adores his family, and he said "every single day" is a gift with his children and Amal, who he believes he was "supposed to be with."
