Nicholas Collins Grew up to Become a Musician Like His Father Phil Collins

Nicholas Collins is Phil Collins' son. His father is one of the most famous English singers, songwriters, rock drummers, record producers, and actors. Today, he is walking in his father's footsteps.

Growing up with a famous father, Nicholas Collins started listening to his father's music as a child. He got to know how well his father played the drums and whenever he played his father's music, he wanted to play it exactly as his father did.

However, he once revealed that knowing and playing the song are entirely different. He learned the difference between his father's drumming in the studio and another drummer's take during concerts.

Even though Nicholas tries to play like his father, he is set on making a name for himself. He revealed that he never takes advantage of his father's name even though it opens doors for him.

Nic Became a Drummer

Nicholas, popularly known as Nic, has a lot of drumming experience. He is the drummer for bands like Better Strangers, Mike And The Mechanics, and Genesis and was also a drummer for his famous father.

He began his drumming career as a toddler. When he became a teenager, he joined his father on stage when his father performed "In the Air Tonight." After that, he drummed for his father when the famous entertainer had his comeback tour in 2016.

In late 2016, Nicholas started dating Isabella Cristina Serralles. There is little information about what she does, but their relationship has strengthened.

He debuted on her Instagram page on December 21, 2016, and she has frequently shared pictures of them. She would usually tag him in the photos, and in one, she called him her favorite dance partner, best friend, and her whole heart.

On November 5, 2022, the couple celebrated their 6th anniversary. Nicholas took to Instagram to celebrate by sharing a picture of himself and Isabella. In the caption, he wrote:

On his Instagram page, with over 73,000 followers at the time of publication, Nicholas would usually share photos from his life and performances.

Nicholas' Parents Had a Long Relationship History

Nicholas' mother, Orianne Cevey, was his father's third wife. She married the famous rock drummer in 1999, but they separated in 2006 and finalized their divorce two years later.

Ten years after their separation, the couple reconciled and had plans for a second wedding. However, the marriage never occurred as they made the news again in 2019.

After separating a second time, Phil discovered that his third ex-wife had secretly married and moved in with her new husband into his Miami mansion.

In October 2020, he evicted her from his home and gave her until January 2021 to get a new place. The case went to court, and before Christmas that year, she had bought a place for herself, her husband, and her kids.

Nicholas Has a Bunch of Siblings

Nicholas is not his father's only child, as he has siblings from his father's previous marriages and a younger brother from his mother. His eldest sister is Joely Collins, whom his father had adopted in his first marriage.

She is an award-winning actress in Canada and is married to Stefan Buitelaar. She is also a businesswoman in the entertainment industry and has a production company.

Nicholas' oldest brother is Simon Philip Nando Collins, also from his father's first marriage. Simon began drumming at five and became a drummer like their father.

He released an album in 2000, and three years later, he started his own record label, where he released more albums. In 2012, he joined a band as their lead vocalist and drummer.

The third child of the family is Lily Jane Collins. She was born from their father's second marriage. She is an author, a model, and a Golden Globe-nominated actress who rose to fame in 2009 when she starred in "The Blind Side."

In September 2021, Lily Collins married the film director and screenwriter Charlie McDowell whom she had been dating since 2019 and got engaged to in September 2020.

Nicholas' younger brother and the youngest in the family is Matthew Collins. He mostly stayed out of the spotlight except when he occasionally joined his parents on the red carpet.
