'Buy What You Want' Rich Man Spends Thousands on Cleaner Who Saved Him from Bankruptcy — Story of the Day

Had it not been for Rosie watching his back, Jason may have lost everything he had worked for in one fell swoop. But thanks to Rosie, he achieved his ultimate goal and awarded Rosie the perfect prize.

A sports car pulls up outside the city's most sought-after boutique on a beautiful summer day when no cloud could be spotted in the sky. Jason and Rosie step out of the sports car and walk inside.

As they enter the high-end store, filled with the chicest clothing imaginable, Jason hands Rosie his golden bank card. He says, "Buy whatever you want."

A year ago, Rosie could never have dreamt of what would come. Her life had been difficult since moving to the USA. Her family had been in a car accident in Mexico. Rosie's father, Enzo, tragically passed away in the crash, and Rosie lost most of her hearing.

She and her mother, Isabella, moved to the USA seeking a fresh start. Isabella worked hard and ensured Rosie got a hearing aid and finished high school. Unfortunately, Isabella fell ill, and her condition meant she could no longer work. Rosie decided to pause her college studies so that she could work and care for her mother.

She worked as a cleaner for a wealth management firm in the city. Thanks to her charm, Rosie got on well with many of the employees at the firm. The firm's head manager, Jason, was a charismatic man who seemed to take inspiration from James Bond himself.

Apart from his swagger, Jason was a natural in the role and ran a tight ship. On one occasion, as Rosie was cleaning doing light cleaning in the boardroom, Katherine was arguing with Jason about a report which needed to be submitted. Being nosy, Rosie could see that Katherine had made a miscalculation.

"You've made a mistake with the budget. Those numbers don't add up," Rosie said as she pointed to the error.

"Wow, she's actually right," Jason said. Katherine was visibly upset and embarrassed, but Rosie continued to mind her business and do her work.

The following day, as Rosie got changed in the morning at the start of her day, Katherine walked into the powder room. She saw that Rosie's hearing aid was on the basin's edge. Katherine threw the aid on the ground and stomped it with her heel.

Katherine mouthed "Back Off!" to Rosie as she walked out of the bathroom. After she was done changing, Rosie stormed out of the powder room and was ready to file a complaint but was stopped by Jason. Without her hearing aid, Rosie was forced to read his lips.

"We... Big Meeting... Clean... Boardroom Please" is all that Rosie could make out. She nodded in agreement and got her supplies ready. As Rosie was cleaning the boardroom, Katherine walked in with another employee and began to chat.

Despite her lack of hearing, Rosie decided to try to eavesdrop by reading Katherine's lips again. This time, Rosie was hyper-focused. "Jason has no idea, but this deal is about the fall apart. I hid the sealed sign-on documents in my office."

"This client is only in town for a couple of hours and is notoriously impatient. That job is all but mine," Katherine told her colleague.

Rosie realized that Katherine was sabotaging Jason to steal the head manager job. Rosie finished cleaning the boardroom as quickly as possible before heading out. Katherine was none the wiser, as she assumed Rosie couldn't hear anything anyway.

"Tomorrow morning, I'll pick you up from home. Tell Isabella to be ready as well. I'm going to make all of this up to you."

30 minutes later, towards the end of the meeting, Jason was getting ready to seal the deal. "Now that we've agreed on the terms, all we have to do is get everything signed. Now, if I could just... get these papers... just give me a second," Jason said as he panicked.

He couldn't find the sign-on documents. This was supposed to be the biggest client the firm had ever landed, and he couldn't find the crucial papers. At that moment, Rosie scurried into the boardroom, holding a large yellow envelope with a small note.

"Your papers were taken and hidden away by Katherine. I found them in her office," the note read.

Luckily, Jason managed to seal the deal and land the client. Afterward, Katherine was fired for misconduct.

"You saved me from losing everything. Thank you so much," Jason told Rosie.

Jason replaced her hearing aid and took Rosie for lunch. She told him about how she had to leave college and how her mother had fallen ill. "Tomorrow morning, I'll pick you up from home. Tell Isabella to be ready as well. I'm going to make all of this up to you," Jason promised.

The following day, Rosie and Isabella were up at 6 a.m. to wait for Jason, who soon arrived in a fancy sports car and rolled down his window. "Somebody's up early," Jason said.

"God helps those who rise early," Rosie replied.

Jason took Isabella to a private hospital to get the best treatment for her illness. He then took Rosie to the most expensive boutique and bought her thousands of dollars worth of clothes to say thank you.

As his final gesture, Jason told Rosie that she could return to college to finish her degree, and he would pay for her studies. Years later, Rosie graduated at the top of her class and landed a job as an accountant at Jason's firm.
