Arkansas Hero Brothers Run to Shield Little Sister from Dogs, Selflessly Take the Attack on Themselves
Having someone to watch over you is the most heartwarming feeling in the world. For many people, it's either a loving parent, an affectionate relative, or even a supportive friend. However, for one little girl, it was her two older brothers who stepped up when things went south.
You might have heard about the special bond between parents and children, but the sweet connection shared by siblings is also worth mentioning. For one Bigelow, Arkansas family, an unlikely and utterly unexpected turn of events proved to be eye-opening and immensely life-changing.
On the second weekend of December 2022, Caitlyn Mayo and Jacob Michael Moore's three children were having a wonderful time at their grandparents' house when something unimaginable happened—one that nobody had seen coming.
An Unusual Incident
The three siblings were playing in their grandparents' yard when two dogs came out of nowhere and charged at them. It was a frightening sight as Aiden, 10, and Declan, 6, saw the Pitbulls darting toward their little sister, Annsley.
Caitlyn noted that the mere thought of the scary incident gave her chills.
To the Rescue
Instead of letting fear grip them and running for their own safety, the brave brothers sprang into action, shielding their baby sibling from the charging dogs. Despite their fragile statures, their spirits were strong, and all they could think about was Annsley's life.
The harrowing incident unfolded on the afternoon of Sunday, December 11, in the children's grandparents' yard in White County. Meanwhile, when Caitlyn heard about what had befallen her young children, she left everything and ran straight to check on them.
The Courageous Big Brother
The distraught mother said she couldn't stop thinking about the worst-case scenario on her way to her kids' grandparents' place. Recalling the details from the spine-chilling incident, Caitlyn said her brave older boy, Aiden, told his little siblings to run when he heard the dogs barking.
However, she said Declan stumbled on his way, and that was when the dogs turned in his direction. But at that moment, Aiden courageously ran to protect his baby brother and pushed the canines off him.
The Little Girl Was Unharmed
According to the children's parents, Aiden was affected the most, followed by Declan, but they were both taken to the hospital and treated for their injuries. Fortunately, little Annsley was unscathed, all thanks to her hero brothers guarding her against the charging four-legged animals.
Although the family was proud of their boys for selflessly rescuing their three-year-old sister, they couldn't help but think about what could have happened had things taken a turn for the worst. Caitlyn noted that the mere thought of the scary incident gave her chills.

Supporting the Young Heroes
Little Declan said his big brother displayed true heroism for stepping up for him and Annsley. "That was really nice. I wish I could have [taken] all the bites," said Declan. An emotional Caitlyn appreciated Aiden for putting his life on the line for his younger siblings.
The children's dad, Jacob, created an online fundraiser to help cover the high medical bills and give them the Christmas they rightly deserved. As of December 22, the GoFundMe page has collected more than $12,000, surpassing the $2,000 goal. Jacob wrote on the crowdfunding account:
"We knew that these boys were gonna be special, we just had no idea how right we were. We could not be more proud of them than we are right now (sic)."
