As people worldwide cozied into their family homes over the weekend to celebrate Christmas, Reese Witherspoon and her family gathered her family to enjoy the festivities, too. Reese is notoriously family oriented.

The actress celebrated the holiday with her children and her mother this year. Some other family members, like Reese's nieces, were also in attendance at the festive family gathering at the weekend.

On Christmas morning, Reese took to Instagram to share a series of photos showing the Christmas dinner that she held for her family. There were photos of each family member, and they all seemed happy.

The posts were met with sweet comments from fans and friends of the family. One fan said that each family member looked very much alike, except for Reese's current partner, Jim Toth, with whom she shares her youngest son.

Comedienne Leanne Morgan remarked that she could see the resemblance between Reese and her mother. Many others said the family looked happy and wished them comfortable and safe holidays.

This is not the family's first gathering to celebrate a big holiday. Just last month, Reese held Thanksgiving celebrations at her home for her entire family. She also posted those photos on Instagram.

"My First, Most Important Priority, Is My Kids"

While Reese has an incredibly successful career, she has been a wonderful mother throughout and always ensures that her children are well cared for and feel loved. She has said it's important to her to keep her children happy.

Reese has three children from two partners. Her children are Ava, Deacon, and Tenessee James. Ava and Deacon share a father, Ryan Phillipe, and Tennesse's father is Reese's current husband, Jim Toth.

The actress said that her children occupy a lot of space in her mind daily, and she is consistently worried about them. She admitted this to Gayle King, saying:

"My first, most important priority is my kids."

She then talked about her children growing up to have careers in Hollywood. She admitted she didn't grow up famous and couldn't give her children advice on growing up in a famous family, but she was blessed to have friends who could.

She revealed that her daughter does not want to enter show business and is instead focused on philanthropic endeavors. Ava has mentioned that she would like to be the change she wants to see in the world.

When asked what she is most looking forward to in the coming year, Reese once again referred to her family, saying: "More time with the people I love."

Reese is supportive of her children no matter what career path they choose to pursue and has said that they have already made her proud with all they have achieved in their lives. The actress simply wants her children to be happy no matter what they choose.

Reese Witherspoon Admires Her Mom Who Saves Lives

Much of Reese's parenting technique comes from her mother, a nurse. Last December, Reese welled up talking about her mother, who has saved many lives during her career.

Reese revealed that her mother was a labor and delivery nurse who was in neonatal intensive care. The actress said that her mother was often too busy to make Reese and her brother dinner, so they did it themselves but did not begrudge their mother for it.

In fact, Reese admires her mother and the upbringing she gave Reese and her brother, despite being so busy. Reese's father was a doctor, and she said that as an actress, she gets a lot of attention, but they are the ones who should be getting the attention. She said:

"We don't focus and highlight on the people who do that hard, difficult work of saving lives."

She mentioned that she had watched her mother save lives and felt that most of the attention should go to people who have done the same. She then thanked doctors and nurses worldwide for their service.

The actress said that she knew doctors and nurses dedicated their lives to their patients, and the compassion they exhibited was unmatched, a quality that she admired in her parents and in other medical staff.
