They Were in Shock

A mother and her three kids were devastated because burglars stole from them the day before Christmas. Officer Anthony Dawson explained the upsetting scene:

"First, we go in, and you see nothing under a Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. You're in shock. And then you see the kids that they seem to be stoic…. They didn't know what really was going on."

The thieves had taken much more than just food and gifts—they robbed the family of the jolliness and glee that comes with the festive season.

The Kind and Caring "Elficers"

Meador was familiar with South Bend's FOP Lodge #36 and their generous Santa's Elficers Program. He reached out to them, hoping they still had a few presents to spare.

The project, which has been running since 2016, provided presents for 900 kids, and they were eager to assist the South Bend family. Thankfully, the team kept gifts for times like these.

An hour later, cops arrived at the family's home carrying countless boxes and happily placing them under the sparkling Christmas tree. Gone was the sadness that had descended in their abode.
