Who Is David Carr's Wife Whom He Has Been Married to for 23 Years?

Melody Carr is David Carr's wife. The couple has been married for over two decades and has an incredible love story. David is a celebrated footballer, famously known for being a quarterback in the NFL for at least 11 seasons.

Besides having a successful career, David is a happily married man to his wife Melody; the two have been together for 23 years and counting. The couple met while in their respective high schools when Melody was a junior and David was a senior who had begun playing football.

They exchanged numbers and kept in touch. Their friendship developed, and soon after, they started dating. The lovebirds later tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in 1999 when they were both in college. Half a year after their wedding, the couple got pregnant with their firstborn son and named him Austin.

Melody decided to drop out of college to work full-time to support her new family and David's career. Fortunately, her sacrifice didn't go in vain; their lives changed after David got his breakthrough in 2002 when he joined the NFL. Twenty-three years later, the couple shares five kids and is happily married.

Melody Carr Is Very Active on Social Media

Besides being the wife of a famous athlete and taking care of her five kids, David Carr's wife is active on social media. As of this writing, she has over 11k followers on her personal Instagram page who keep tabs on her lifestyle.

There, she often posts photos of various activities with her family and also shares the experiences that come with most of them living with diabetes. Melody also runs another Instagram account, @pretty_little_readers_, where she hosts a book club.

Melody encourages patients who are newly diagnosed with the condition that it's manageable so long as people maintain a good quality of life.

She organizes a setup where she meets with her friends to discuss books they have read and express their opinions. Per the Instagram page, they have discussed over 47 books and counting.

The Carrs Met at a Winter Church Camp Out of Town

Even though David and Melody grew up in the same area of Bakersfield, they both attended different high schools. Their paths first crossed during a church camp; according to Melody, she noticed David first but kept her cool when she saw most girls were all over him. Speaking to ABC30 Action News, she said:

"The girls were all over him - immediately upon arrival. So, that kind of turned me off. I was like, whatever. Yea, he's cute, but I'm not going to go chase him."

Melody stated that she stole David's attention when he noticed she was minding her business and not talking to him. After David made the first move, they exchanged contacts and kept in touch.

The two formed a strong connection as they would talk on the phone for hours. They took their relationship to the next level and got married in 1999. Even after being together for quite a long time, the couple still looks very much in love; they celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary in March 2022.

Four out of Seven in the Carr family live with Type 1 Diabetes

Melody doesn't shy away from speaking about some of her family members being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. She runs an Instagram account named @raising4diabetics, where she creates awareness for people living with the condition.

Her husband, David, and three of their children, Austin, Cooper, and Grace, live with Type 1 diabetes. Melody encourages patients who are newly diagnosed with the condition that it's manageable so long as people maintain a good quality of life.

According to David Carr's wife, her family frequently checks blood sugar levels and has regular endocrinology follow-ups. They also incorporate healthy diets and exercise habits. David isn't the only celebrity living with Type 1 diabetes; others include Nick Jonas and Jay Cutler.
