Postman Notices Name of His Lost Father on Envelope He Delivers – Story of the Day
Jerry was a postman who had grown up as an orphan and longed to know his parents. His difficult life had led him to give up on his dreams. However, his life was changed forever after receiving a letter addressed to someone from his past.
Jerry was a 22-year-old young man who worked as a postman for a living. Working as a postman was never what Jerry had planned or desired for his life, but his circumstances had brought him to this point.
While he mourned the many dreams he never saw come to fruition, he was grateful for how far he had come. Jerry never had an easy life growing up, but his gratitude allowed him to be the kind and good-hearted person he was, regardless of his various disappointments.

Jerry grew up as an orphan. His mother left him at an orphanage at the tender age of 6; that was the last he saw of her. He never knew his father and barely remembered his mother. All he had to hold onto in memory of his parents was a note with the name "Rocky Redman," which was in the jacket he was wrapped in when the orphanage staff found him.
Jerry spent most of his teenage years trying to find this mysterious Rocky Redman. He had hoped that maybe he might be his father. He searched for him in all the local databases and online, but it was all in vain.
Jerry had always desired to be an engineer and had a natural knack and gift for dismantling and assembling machinery. However, his adoptive family was not very supportive of Jerry and ill-treated him.

His adoptive family disregarded his dreams, and his needs always came second to all the other members of the family. He felt like an outcast, but again he was grateful to have a place he could call home.
His adoptive parents never gave him attention or encouragement regarding his studies. While it may not have been their exact intention, Jerry's adoptive family's ill-treatment of him eventually taught him that his dreams were insignificant.
He eventually gave up on going to college and becoming an engineer, choosing to do whatever work would help him survive. By the time he was 18, he had traded in the hope of a prosperous life for a reality grounded in mere survival.

However, that was all about to change soon. One day as he was going about his deliveries at work, he noticed a letter addressed to "Rocky Redman." Jerry stopped dead in his tracks, his heart sinking in disbelief.
Here he was again, looking at the same name that had haunted so much of his past. As he looked at the letter and reflected on all the pain and regret it had caused him all those years ago, he considered throwing it away and continuing with his day.
Although, things were different this time. There was an address attached to the name. And if his gut feeling was right, and Rocky Redman knew something about his parents, he couldn't turn back the answers he had been searching for all his life after they'd effortlessly fallen into his lap.

Jerry decided to go to the address which led him to a large estate. As he stood knocking at the door, an ocean of fears and possibilities flooded his mind. "Was this another dead end? Was he setting himself up for more rejection? Was he really about to meet his father? And if so, could he handle being abandoned again?" Jerry thought.
As the door opened, Jerry's mouth dropped, and his mind went completely blank that second. The only thought that lingered at that moment was, "This is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen."
Jerry stood there for a couple of seconds in awestruck silence as he glared at Anna. Anna was a beautiful young woman around Jerry's age. She worked as a maid at the house.

"Hello," Anna said with a warm smile.
"Uhm... Wow..." Jerry tried to find his words, but nothing would come out. Anna chuckled with a blush, flattered by Jerry's rather evident admiration of her.
"Do you have a package for us?" Anna asked.
"Uhm... N—No... I mean, yes. I have a package for Rocky Redman," Jerry finally responded.
"Rocky Redman? I think you may have the wrong address," Anna said, scratching her head in confusion.

Just then, a man's voice came from inside the house saying, "Anna, who's that the door?" A man in his early sixties approached the door, and he and Jerry immediately locked eyes.
"There's a postman here looking for someone called Rocky Redman. I told him it must be the wrong address," Anna said.
"Rocky Redman? How do you know that name?" the man asked Jerry, utterly startled.
"Do you know him?" Jerry asked, springing with hope.
"That was a nickname my mates gave me back in my school days. Got it because of my red hair and brawn. But that was ages ago," Jerry explained.

"Uhm... Well... I'm not sure how to say this, and I'm not particularly sure how this letter came into my possession. But, I think you might be my father, sir," Jerry explained nervously.
The man, Donald, was shocked at Jerry's revelation. They went to a laboratory later that day for a DNA test, and it turned out that Donald was Jerry's father. Jerry told Donald his story over coffee, and Donald broke down in tears.
"I can't believe she had a child and never told me. Believe me, Jerry, I never knew about you. If I had, I would have been there for you. I never had children, and it was one of my biggest regrets. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me," Donald pleaded.
"It's okay. I'm just glad I finally got the chance to meet you. You don't know how long I've hoped and prayed for this day," Jerry said, embracing his father with a hug.

Following that, Donald took Jerry in to live with him. He paid Jerry's way through school, and he could finally live his dream as an engineer.
After spending a lot of time together, Anna and Jerry fell in love and started dating. Some years passed, and Donald passed away, leaving Jerry with a 1.3 million dollar inheritance.
And while Jerry missed his father dearly, he was ever grateful to not only have finally met him but to have had him step into his life and change it in such a drastic way.
