Aaron Donald Proposed to His Wife Erica Donald Twice
NFL defensive tackle Aaron Donald met his wife Erica when she started working for the Los Angeles Rams in 2005 and proposed to her twice -- the first time after just four months of dating.
Star Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald shows the same single-minded determination in love as he does on the field. Aaron Donald's wife is Erica Donald, and the couple met through their shared interest in football.
Their love story is sweet and proves that Aaron is a man who knows what he wants when he sees it and stops at nothing to achieve his goals. The couple has been married since 2020 and shares a little son, Aaric.

Aaron met Erica in 2015 when she started working for the Los Angeles Rams --just a year after he joined the team straight from playing college football for the University of Pittsburg. Erica Donald was born Erica Sherman on July 21, 1991, and football was a part of her life from the day she was born.
Her father is a football coach, who worked with college teams and the NFL, and Erica followed him into the world of sports professionally and in her private life by marrying star player Aaron Donald.
Born and raised in Pittsburg on May 23, 1991, Aaron started playing football in high school, encouraged by his father, who hoped sports and exercise would give his son structure. Aaron became a football star in college and joined the Rams in 2014.
Aaron and the Rams won the 2022 Superbowl against the Cincinnati Bengals, enhancing his status. The player has already been on TV. He did a cameo on the reboot detective series "Magnum P.I." opposite Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, and Zachary Knighton. The iconic 80s show originally featured Tom Selleck and Roger E. Moseley.
The First Time Aaron Proposed without Ring
Erica has shared a few details of their courtship and revealed that Aaron got through to her with his gentle thoughtfulness. The first time he proposed to Erica, the two were on vacation, and Aaron was unprepared --he didn't have a ring. She revealed:
"He proposed to me for the first time after four months of dating. The second time he did it, it was my birthday."
This time, Aaron was more than prepared: he presented Erica with three diamond-set bands, which she now proudly wears. The couple had a long engagement before quietly marrying in 2020.
Aaron Married a 'Boss Lady'
Erica is a self-proclaimed "boss lady" with a BA in Mass Communication and Public Relations from Louisiana State University. Before joining the Los Angeles Rams, Erica worked with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the Glazer Family Foundation and interned with Fox Sports.
Aaron is now at the peak of his career, but the player admitted that being away from his older children for extended periods threatens his emotional wellbeing.
Erica is now her husband's marketing manager and an executive with Donda Sports, Kanye West's sports marketing agency. Erica signed her husband to Donda Sports and is his biggest fan and supporter. She describes Aaron as her best friend and a wonderful father.
Kids Always Come First For Aaron
Aaron and Erica welcomed their first child, Aaric, in 2021 and are raising him in Los Angeles. Aaron has two children from a previous relationship, Jaeda and Aaron Jr., who live in Pittsburg.
Not long ago, the children spent a lot of time in California with Aaron and Erica, but now that they've reached school age, it's more difficult for them to spend so much time away from home.
Being away from his children affected Aaron deeply, so he started thinking about retirement to dedicate himself to his children and be there for them as they grow. He said:
"I'm thinking about my kids first, always. People who know me understand why."
Retirement may seem a radical step for many since Aaron is now at the peak of his career. Still, the player admitted that being away from his older children for extended periods threatens his emotional well-being. He confessed:
"I just wasn't myself. If my kids’ situation is not in order, my world is not in order. Honestly, it has always been about [them]. (...) If it wasn't for [Erica], I don't know where I would be mentally."
There are hints that Aaron will finish his contract, retire, and move his family to Pittsburg to be closer to his two older children and his parents. Aaron, the loving father, is also a dedicated son.
When he became a star player, he bought his divorced parents separate houses and ensured they could retire comfortably. It seems that Aaron will join them in retirement, focusing all his considerable energy on being a hands-on dad for his three children and an adoring husband to his wife, Erica.
