April Bowlby's Marital Status: A Look inside Her Private Marriage with Matthew Cooke

In 2020, April Bowlby's marital status went from engaged to married after she and Matthew Cooke tied the knot during a low-key ceremony. The actress rose to stardom for her role in a famous sitcom but has managed to keep her love life under wraps and only revealed she tied the knot two years later.

Bowlby is most known for her role as Kandi in "Two and a Half Men," and after years on the silver and small screen, her life off-screen piqued fans' interest.

April's Husband Is Also Famous

Born on July 30, 1980, in Vallejo, California, Bowlby had already graduated from college when she set her sights on pursuing an acting career. After studying drama with Ivana Chubbuck, a producer, she landed a role in "Two and a Half Men" and "Drop Dead Diva."

Her husband is no stranger to Hollywood, too, as an actor and film producer. But in 2015, Cooke shifted his focus to social change, and he wracked in millions of views on Facebook for his advocacy commentaries. His IMDb bio partly reads:

"For his social activism Cooke's been invited to speak at NYU, University of Texas, TEDx in Vienna, and was honored to join Sankofa (Harry Belafonte's organization of artists for social change."

There is very little information about Cooke and Bowlby's wedding other than it occurred in 2020. Two years later, Bowlby took to Instagram to share a black and white picture of her and Cooke sharing a kiss on their big day in honor of their anniversary.

In July 2019, Cooke shared a comical video on how to survive an earthquake that featured Bowlby

She captioned the post, "True wuv 12/20," and gave fans a glimpse of the bride and groom from their special day. Bowlby wore her hair up in an open-back, long-sleeve gown highlighting her figure. Her husband opted for a white suit jacket and black pants and went for a tie over a bow.

The snap of the couple received over eight thousand likes at the time of writing, as fans – and fellow celebrities – flooded Bowlby's comments sections with congratulatory messages.

The Couple Remains Quite Private about Their Relationship

While it is unclear when Cooke and Bowlby's relationship began, they made their relationship public when they appeared on social media for the first time.

In July 2019, Cooke shared a comical video on how to survive an earthquake that featured Bowlby, and the couple gave viewers tips on how to survive an earthquake in under four minutes. The short video ends with Cooke and Bowlby sitting in a car as he compliments his future wife.

At the end of 2020, Bowlby was again featured on Cooke's Facebook page as the couple sat for Christmas pictures. In the caption, he wrote:

"Regardless of our personal faith, may we all follow the lead of the namesake of this holiday."

Cooke signed off the Facebook post, "The Cookes," hinting that he and Bowlby had already married and shared their first pictures as a married couple. More couple content soon followed, and in November 2021, Cooke shared another photo of him and his wife.

April Recently Welcomed Their Son

In April 2022, Bowlby joined Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott on the list of celebrities who were expecting when she announced that she was pregnant by sharing snaps of her maternity shoot. The expecting mother cradled her round belly and shared that her child would be born later that year.

In October, Bowlby and Cooke shared a family photo of Cooke holding a newborn. A year later, Bowlby confirmed that her bundle of joy is a boy but has yet to reveal his name and face.
