While John Legend has always been the baby-faced heartthrob of the music industry, his wife, model Chrissy Teigen, has often come under scrutiny for her outlandish opinions and often-brash comments.

However, the couple has faced their fair share of heartache as they have suffered multiple miscarriages in their 13-year marriage. The last of which was a very public ordeal about which fans had many opinions.

While Teigen has struggled to carry pregnancies to term, she welcomed two children, Miles and Luna Stephens, into the world. The famous family is celebrating once again as they welcome their third baby.

The third addition to the Stephens children was welcomed on Friday, January 13. While in concert, Legend announced to the crowd that he had had a baby that morning. Fans immediately began tweeting about it.

Legend said he hadn't had much sleep but was excited and energized by the new baby's arrival and called it a "blessed day." The birth of their child comes after the heartbreaking loss they suffered of a son they called Jack in October 2020.

Legend's Emotional Reaction to His Daughter's Birth

After Legend announced his daughter's birth in concert, Teigen took to social media to share the happy news with the world. She posted a photo of Miles and Luna holding their baby sister as Luna traced a finger along her belly.

In the caption, Teigen revealed that the baby's name is Esti Maxine Stephens. She talked about how everyone was feeling about the little one's arrival, saying:

"The house is bustling, and our family could not be happier. Daddy sheds nightly tears of joy seeing Luna and Miles so full of love…."

She ended the caption by saying, "We are in bliss," and then thanked fans for the love and good wishes they sent to the family. She confirmed that they felt all the good energy coming from all corners of the globe.

Legend shared the same photo as his wife and said their house was ecstatic at the arrival of their new baby. He said he felt terrific seeing how Luna and Miles interact with their newborn sister and then said "grateful" isn't a big enough word to describe his feelings.

Baby Esti Is Their Blessing After Losing Son Jack

Teigen has been open about her fertility struggles in the past and has spoken publicly about miscarrying multiple pregnancies. However, two years ago in October, she suffered a significant loss to the family.

The former model was open about her high-risk pregnancy with Jack and told the world that she was on bed rest. However, she then shared that she was bleeding excessively, and Jack wasn't getting the fluids he needed.

Teigen was rushed to the hospital, where they attempted fluid transfusions to keep the baby alive. Tragically, none of these things worked, and she lost her son. She shared the news in an emotional Instagram post.

In the post, Teigen shared that, as a family, they did not decide on the baby's name until the very last moment before they left the hospital. Yet they had begun calling the baby Jack during her pregnancy and said they would always know him by that name.

Teigen later got a delicate tattoo of Jack's name in cursive on her inner wrist. Legend got a matching tattoo. The tattoo studio Winter Stone shared the photo of the tattoo on their Instagram page shortly after Teigen and Legend lost their son.

Since then, the couple has done many things to honor little Jack. One of these things was a recipe for cookies in Teigen's cookbook "Cravings: All Together: Recipes to Love." The words "For Jack" are printed in the middle of the page.

Teigen and Legend also have a large tree growing inside their home, which they have dubbed "The Tree of Life." They planted it in honor of their son, who they lost at 20 weeks gestation, and say it brings life to their home.
