Despite their nonbiological relationship, Gabriel Iglesias's son makes him a proud father. Frankie resembles the comedian in many ways, and he remains his kid after a rocky patch in the comedian's life led to a breakup between his parents.

Gabriel Iglesias became a father in recent years. The comedian got into a committed relationship with a woman who conceived his stepson, Frankie Iglesias, in a previous relationship. At the time of Gabriel's announcement during a standup special in 2009, his stepson was ten years old, which makes him 24 in 2023.

During the standup, he joked about taking on financial duties in his stepson's life and that he was lucky enough to get a stepson that looked exactly like him.

Frankie Iglesias Is His Dad's Mini-Me

Gabriel is proud of his now-24-year-old son and spoke about how they bond over their similarities. The comedian revealed that Frankie is a miniature version of himself as he is also "fluffy" and weighed 162 pounds when he was ten. Gabriel described his son as the cutest kid whose interests were "microwave, burritos, and PlayStation."

During the comedy special where he announced his stepfatherhood, the comedian said the 24-year-old, who he refers to as his son, used to wake up at 5 a.m. saying he was hungry. Gabriel, who would usually be asleep, would respond, "me too," and his son would prepare some hot pockets for breakfast.

On April 29, 2017, Gabriel shared a selfie on Instagram of himself sitting beside his son. His caption bantered their slight differences, and fans commented how they looked alike. One fan said their similarities were unreal; another questioned whether the comedian was sure that Frankie was not his biological son.

Frankie Has Become a Main Star in His Dad's Shows

Frankie began to see the comedian as a father figure when Iglesias married his mother, referring to him as a dad. The comedian's superstardom would usually incite an uproar at Frankie's school. His starstruck friends would flock around his father's car, chanting his comedic alias, "Fluffy! Fluffy! Fluffy!"

Unlike his peers from school, Frankie is not moved by his father's celebrity status. He sees Gabriel as the person who tells him, "take a shower, put on deodorant," and "stop picking your nose." Although Frankie was not impressed with how his friends worshiped Gabriel, he became a big part of his father's stage performance.

He would refer to their everyday moments in his comedy specials. He once shared how Frankie is a one-word kid and only opens up to entire conversations in December with a Christmas agenda in mind. The comedian gifts his son during the holiday season and once bought him a pair of Beats by Dre headphones.

Frankie Made His Father Proud by Being Confident

The comedian's son surprised him with a strong display of confidence in 2017. During one of his comedy shows in the United Kingdom, Frankie took the stage for the first time in front of a live audience. This was a surreal moment for his father, who decidedly captured and shared the moment on Instagram.

Frankie's father again made him the butt of the joke during the comedy special "The Fluffy Movie" in 2014. He shared the portion where he spoke about Gabriel on YouTube, proudly revealing that his son is at the top of his class at school, reflecting the kid's genius on paper. Contrarily, he joked that Frankie is forever texting at home and expresses himself with sound effects.

Frankie's whole family dynamic ended when his mother and stepfather split. The comedian revealed that the stress between work and family life became a lot to handle, eventually driving him into "survival mode." He admitted that he faced issues with alcohol that he had to put aside to have an "emotional rebuild."

Despite Gabriel splitting from Claudia Valdez, he maintains a real relationship with her son, Frankie. He explained that there had been a change in his home, "Home is different now. I focus on myself, my career, my kid, and my dogs." This statement reveals that the comedian is still living with his son, Frankie.

While on the topic of children, we have covered all the facts about Eddie Murphy becoming a father to his tenth child at 57. Recently he played the voice of Chuck in "Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank" alongside the now-divorced Samuel L. Jackson. He also stars in the 2021animation "Space Jam," alongside Lori Harvey's ex-boyfriend, Michael B. Jordan.
