Many tributes have poured in from celebrities alike, including Wersching's husband of 13 years, actor Stephen Full who issued a statement that reads:

"There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn't require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. 'Go find it. It's everywhere.' And find it we shall."

Full recounted times when his beloved wife would "yell BYE!" at him and their children as he drove off and would say, "I love you little family."

Meanwhile, Jon Cassar, director and executive producer of the drama series, "24," also paid homage to the Hollywood star and expressed that her passing left him disheartened:

"Annie became more than a workmate. She became a real friend to me, my family, and every cast and crew member that worked with her. She'll be truly missed by them and the fans she always found time to interact with."

Per a GoFundMe page created on behalf of Wersching's family, she was a reserved individual. After being diagnosed with the disease, she became even more private about her personal life to shield her sons: Freddie, Ozzie, and Archie.

In addition, "she wanted to get better so she could continue working," wrote Ever Carradine, the organizer of the fundraiser on the platform. She explained the fundraising is for Wersching's husband and the couple's kids:

"Annie lived for her family. [...] Steve and the boys were her absolute everything. This Go Fund Me is for them. It's so Steve can have time to grieve without the pressure of needing to work."

Wersching Gave Birth to Her Third Child a Few Years Before the Disease

Like his wife, Full is also in show business and has played notable roles over the years. One of his most noteworthy acting gigs includes playing Stan on the Disney Channel show, "Dog with a Blog." He also starred as Ash on the American teen sitcom, "I'm In the Band."

The father of three has also featured in some movie roles, including the 2008 action films, "Finish Line," and "A False Prophet," and the thriller, "Resilience."

Full and Wersching tied the knot at their Los Angeles abode in September 2009. The couple welcomed their first child, Freddie, in 2012, followed by their second child, Ozzie, in 2013.

The pair had their third child Archie on November 25, 2018. The family's youngest member was born in Los Angeles and weighed in at 8lbs., 9 oz, and measured 20 inches long at birth.

Wersching classically announced her pregnancy in June 2018 on Twitter and tweeted: "It's a tiny #clockblocker! I mean a Gibborim glow baby. I mean Damon & Stefan's younger sibling! Let's hope it's not related to 3XK. Oh, who are we kidding? It'll be adorable little Jack or Renee."

During her pregnancy, the mom of three kept fans updated by posting heart-warming pictures and videos of her growing baby bump. She once shared a photo of several kids drawing a pumpkin on her belly with markers and captioned the post: "Did this happen at YOUR pumpkin carving party?!?"

While expecting her third child, it was announced that she would return to her role as Church of Gibborim leader, Leslie Dean, in "Runaways." She gushed about the perks of being a mom in real life while portraying such a role:

"I have two young boys, so it's a fun time for mommy to be on a superhero show."

The doting parent revealed she showed her eldest son Freddie "cool scenes and the parts where kids start showing their powers," adding she had made him watch those parts, and he thought it was "so cool."

Will Series "24" Return to Screens?

Meanwhile, there have been talks about a possible return of "24," in which Wersching starred as Renee Walker. The show's leading man, actor Kiefer Sutherland – who played Jack Bauer – hinted in April 2022 that he was open to returning to the series if they decide to reboot it:

"I miss it. It was an incredible experience. […] I love playing that character. I do believe the story is unresolved."

Sutherland, who bagged numerous awards for the Fox series, said if writers penned an appealing storyline for the show which would make an impact on the "franchise," then he would make a return "even if my participation in that were to be limited," he explained.

The Emmy Award winner stated it all bows down to the writing quality. He added if Howard Gordon (the original showrunner) were to write for the show again, then there is a possibility of a comeback.

The series "24" ran for nine seasons from 2001 to 2010 and had 192 episodes. It won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2006.

Despite its success, Sutherland admitted he almost quit the popular action drama series during its first season due to filming being interrupted by the September 11 terrorist attacks. The series premiered in November 2001, only a few months following the historical attacks.

The British-Canadian native explained he and the rest of the cast were overwhelmed by the happenings of that fateful day as the series "started emulating one of the greatest tragedies in American history."

Sutherland said he was not the only one who felt like throwing in the towel while filming the show. He revealed no one else wanted anything to do with the representation of such a horrific event.
