Does Missy Elliott Have a Husband? Inside the Star's Love Life
Missy Elliott is one of the most talented female artists in history. A trendsetter, she made a solid contribution to getting female rappers more recognition but has kept her personal life private, with no information about her husband. There has been speculation that she is gay.
A native of Virginia, Melissa Arnette Elliott was born on July 1, 1971. She became active in the music industry in the early 1990s, breaking many boundaries on her journey to becoming the legend she is today. She recently became the first female hip-hop artist nominated for the rock and roll hall of fame.
Despite all the success and fame that has come with her musical talents, Elliot's private life remains a mystery as she prefers to keep it that way. She has been romantically linked to other famous people on several occasions but has never been married and had no kids, although she has admitted wanting them.
Missy Elliott Was Rumored to Be Gay and Linked to Many Famous People over the Years
Missy Elliott's sexuality has been a point of contention among the media and fans for most of her career. There has been widespread speculation that Elliott is gay and has been alleged to be in romantic relationships with several other female celebrities, including Keri Hilson, Olivia, and Lil Kim.
Elliott and Olivia were said to be in a sexual relationship sometime between 2004 and 2007, when Olivia was part of the G-Unit stable. Although those rumors, like many others, did not gain much traction then, 50 Cent's claims that Elliott and Olivia were in a sexual relationship during a 2014 interview gave substance to the allegation.

The "Candy Shop" rapper had made that statement while responding to questions about his failure to work well with Olivia; hence, there may have been a sense of bitterness in his response. Additionally, Olivia had previously stated that she enjoyed making music more with Elliot than with 50, which contributed to their closeness.
In 2013, some gossip bloggers ran the story that Elliott married Sharaya J, an upcoming rapper she had signed to her record company, The Goldmind Inc. Two years after the rumors, Sharaya J referred to Elliott as her "music mother," suggesting there may have been nothing between them.
Missy Elliott Keeps Her Love Life Away from the Media Spotlight
Elliott's sexuality and relationship status are among the most extraordinarily guarded celebrity details. The rapper has never talked about her sexuality and has never been spotted with her partner/lover publicly. Hence, all the things written about her in that regard have been speculation.
She has made some subtle responses to the rumors in some cases. For example, when she was purported to be dating singer Keri Hilson in 2011, she fired back at the claims on Twitter, saying the two had never worked together and barely knew each other. Keri Hilson also supported Elliott on Twitter, calling the claims lies.
At one time, there were rumors that Elliott was dating Eva Marcille, a former "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star. Marcille denied it during a session on the "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen." She said she had never connected with Elliott beyond friendship, and they don't talk about the rumors as Elliott is "non-confrontational."

Missy Elliott Once Confessed She Wanted to Adopt a Child
Elliott is mainly quiet about her private life and does well to keep it out of the spotlight. She has never been married, nor has she had any kids.
Hence, when she talked about her desire to have children in 2008, that was a rare occasion for the media and her fans. In making the revelations, she confirmed that she would like to be a mom, but not a biological one, as she is scared of the pain that comes with labor and delivery.
She said, "Maybe in 2020, you could just pop a baby out, and it'd be fine. But right now, I'd rather just adopt." Nevertheless, Elliott still does not have any children, even adopted ones.
In 2012, Elliott raised some momentary confusion after she pointed out, "I got two little boys– y'all are hearing it for the first time, two sons." However, after a few dramatic seconds, she clarified her statement, saying she was referring to her two dogs amidst much laughter in the studio.
