Johnson is always with his mother and urges his fans to value time with their parents
Dwayne Johnson, also known as "The Rock," might be a beast in the gym, but he is a talented actor with a big heart. Johnson is not only loved for his kindness but for being open about his personal life.
The actor shared that his mother, Ata Johnson, was involved in a car accident on February 1, 2023. He posted the news on Instagram, showing the damage to her red Cadillac sedan.
Fortunately, Ata is fine. His son explained that she would be getting more evaluations. Johnson also expressed his appreciation to the Los Angeles Police Department (LADP) for caring for his mother and patiently taking him through everything on the phone.

With every traumatic experience, Johnson always reminds his fans to be more appreciative of their loved ones. So, after the shock of almost losing his mother, he urged people to hug their parents while they were still alive because things could change at any minute.
Additionally, the actor suffered the loss of his father, so the thought of losing another parent only made him value his mother's life more. He wrote, "Angels of mercy watched over my mom as she was in a car crash late last night."
Dwayne Johnson's Mom Survived in a Car Crash: Poor Ata Is Haunted by Car Accidents
Unfortunately, it was not the first time Johnson received a call about his mother's involvement in a car accident. An alleged drunk driver struck Ata and Lina Fanane head-on in 2014.
The two women were returning from an annual family fundraiser they loved to attend. Luckily, both of them survived the car crash and were rushed to the hospital.
Ata was hospitalized for three days. Afa, Johnson's uncle, spoke on the family's behalf, but he did not detail the severity of their injuries. However, he emphasized that it was a scary scene.
Therefore, Johnson was grateful to have his mother live through another near-death experience. The actor opened up about when he almost saw his mother's death before his eyes.
When a 15-Year-Old Dwayne Saved His Mom When She Gave up on Life
Johnson watched his mom survive a tough marriage and work multiple jobs to put food on the table. However, some days were more challenging than others.
When Johnson was 15 years old, he found himself at the right place at the right time. He saw his mother get out of the car on Interstate 65 in Nashville and walk toward oncoming traffic.

As he saw several cars and trucks swerve to avoid hitting her, Johnson realized that his mother was trying to take her life. He acted fast and pulled Ata to the side of the road. It is puzzling that the moment is still vivid in Johnson's mind, but his mother has no recollection of it.
For unknown reasons, Ata was unaware of what she was doing, but Johnson expressed that it might be best for her not to remember that day. However, he was grateful that he was there to save her life.
Johnson shared this story in 2018 after a tough filming day. In true Johnson nature, he told the story to raise awareness about mental health and how it can affect anyone close to us.

So, the "Jumanji" star urged his fans to pay attention to their loved ones. He said, "Help 'em thru it, get 'em talkin' about the struggle, and remind 'em that they're not alone" [sic].
Therefore, when Johnson posted about his mother's accident, he listed everything she had survived and applauded her for her amazing strength through the years.
