Al Franken's Wife Franni Bryson Stayed Supportive of Him during His Career

Al Franken and Franni are getting ready to hand each other golden gifts as they are just two and a bit years away from celebrating their Golden Jubilee as a married couple. The pair have been together for even longer since they met as freshmen at Harvard University in 1969.

While addressing a group of supporters, Franken spoke about his wife, noting that he doesn't know how he would have managed without her. Franni has been by Franken's side throughout their four decades of marriage, and he is grateful for her love and support.

Generally, the Frankens are a family-orientated group. Franni and Franken share two children, and those two have given them four grandchildren so far. The Couple Is Close to Celebrating 50 Years of Marriage

October 5 is a special day for Franken and his wife. That is the day they celebrate their wedding anniversary after they tied the knot in 1975. In 2017, Franken wrote a special message dedicated to his wife. The Facebook post showed a picture of the two, taken in 1971, and part of the caption read:

"Franni and I just celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary. We’ve been together since 1969. Happy anniversary, Franni. I love you and it's been a joy having you by my side. Here's a photo of us from 1971."

They have been together since 1969. They met at a college mixer when they were freshmen. A youthful Franken first laid eyes on his future wife from across the room, and it was love at first sight for the actor. Besides thinking that she was beautiful, he also liked how she organized some girls as they were getting ready to leave.

Before she could leave, a courageous and in love Franken walked to Franni and asked her to dance. Luckily for him, she agreed, and they had their first dance. Thereafter, Franken bought Franni a soda and subsequently asked her out. Their first date was a walk on the Freedom Trail in Boston.

Franni and Al Have a Big Family with a Bunch of Grandchildren

The couple welcomed two children, daughter Thomasin and son Joseph, in their 48 years of marriage so far. Franni and Al Franken, who rose to fame through his contribution to "Saturday Night Live," have also been blessed with four grandchildren from their two kids.

The oldest of the grandchildren is Joe Greenwald, Thomasin's son. He is two years older than Joseph's son, Jacob Franken. Next is Avery Greenwald, and lastly, Claire Frances Franken, named after Franken's grandmother, Clara Franken. Her other name, "Frances," is also a tribute to Franni's mom, Frances Bryson.
