Vera Steimberg, Danny Moder's first wife, accused Julia Robert of stealing her husband after the famous actress and Danny Moder's long-standing friendship turned romantic. After Julia Roberts and Danny Moder tied the knot, Vera Steimberg shared her candid thoughts about their marriage.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Steimberg made a name for herself as a successful makeup artist. Her talent with a makeup brush saw her become famous for transformations such as Eddie Murphy's role as The Nutty professor.

Steimberg and her ex-husband Danny Moder's relationship began in the 1990s, as they both had careers behind the camera. After tying the knot in a discreet ceremony in 1997, Moder met his second wife three years later on a movie set.

By 2002, Steimberg and Moder went their separate ways, and Roberts was branded a "husband stealer" when her romance began with her long-time friend. Steimberg briefly steered clear of the limelight; however, she shared how she felt about Robert and Moder's marriage.

According to reports, Moder and Roberts met on the set of "The Mexican" in 2000. He was a cameraman, and Roberts landed the lead alongside Brad Pitt.

During an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the talk show host said that she imagined it must have been intimidating for Moder to approach Roberts; however, the "Pretty Woman" actress revealed that movie sets made for the best place to form friendships as you can see multiple sides to a person in a short time.

Roberts said she and Moder were friends for a very long time, as she was in a relationship with Benjamin Pratt, and he was with Steimberg. However, starting their relationship as friends and co-workers proved to be a good thing, as the actress added:

"I think that had a profound effect on our friendship. I could see how wonderful he was, but we were both in relationships at the time, so we were just friends."

Roberts described falling in love with Moder as "horrible," as she was afraid of possibly losing his friendship if he did not feel the same way for her. According to the actress, Steimberg played a "huge" part in her and Moder's relationship.

However, she revealed that Steimberg's ex-husband "sorted his whole thing out" separate from his second wife, who did the same with her relationship. When asked if she was the reason Steimberg and Moder's marriage ended, Roberts replied, "No."

She added that she understood that she was "an easy person to point the finger at," but that was not how the event of Steimberg's divorce unfolded.

In 2002, Steimberg and her ex-husband were officially divorced. On July 4, he had tied the knot with Roberts at her ranch in New Mexico during a midnight ceremony. According to Steimberg, Roberts had been "desperate" to marry Moder, but the Argentine makeup artist did not want her marriage to end.

Steimberg admitted to giving up when Roberts received her "wish." And according to reports, Moder's second wife paid Steimberg $400,000 to speed up her and Moder's divorce process.

While Steimberg did not disclose the exact amount, she expressed that she was outraged by her ex-husband's relationship and that Roberts was only infatuated with Moder. Following Roberts and Moder's marriage, Steimberg said:

"I'll never be able to forgive Julia, she's a husband stealer. But it won't last with her anyway. She will be looking for a new husband within a year. Danny has a roving eye, too, and he won't change. He cheated on me, and he will cheat on her."

In 2003, Roberts was photographed wearing a shirt that read "A LOW VERA." The clothing piece made headlines as some thought it was a reference to Steimberg.

When asked about it during her interview with Winfrey, Robert replied, "You know what that was about? It was private. I stand by my T-shirt," and added that those close to her knew the intention behind the shirt.

Roberts also noted that tabloids tended to dramatize events into a frenzy, to which people clamored. "We all do it. It's a primal, natural response," she shared.
