Anya Robbie and Her Siblings Were Raised by a Single Mother

Anya Robbie is the oldest of the four Robbie siblings. She was born in 1989 to Doug Robbie and Sarie Kessler in Dalby, Queensland, Australia. The couple welcomed their son, Lachlan, next, then Margot in 1990, followed by the family's baby, Cameron, in 1995.

The Robbies' marriage didn't last, and after Doug left, Sarie was left to raise the four children on her own, which her daughter Margot revealed was a trial. She said of her mother, Sarie:

"She was a single mother raising my brothers and my sister and I by herself, and we didn’t make life easy for her. We were always fighting, and my mom had to be a very strong woman to hold things together."

Anya and her siblings grew up on their grandparent's farm in Australia, on the Gold Coast, spent their time stomping around in farm boots, and learned all about farming and caring for animals. For fun, they'd go boar-hunting and surfing.

Anya is the only one of the four Robbie children who didn't choose showbusiness as a career. Her brother Lachlan is a stuntman who worked on "Alien: Covenant," Jason Momoa's hit action-packed "Aquaman," and "Birds of Prey," which was produced by Margot.

Anya was Margot's bridesmaid at her glamorous 2016 wedding to film producer and actor Tom Ackerley.

Anya's baby brother Cameron is an actor like Margot and is busy building his career. He started acting in 2015 and landed a role in the Australian series "Neighbours," which has launched the careers of celebrities like Kylie Minogue, Liam and Chris Hemsworth, and of course, his sister Margot Robbie.

Anya Robbie Works in the Financial Industry

Unlike her brothers and sister, Anya's world is all about numbers. In 2013, she graduated from Bond University, which is in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, with a degree in Accountancy.

Since then, Anya has been gaining experience and is now the Senior Accountant at Accountis Pty Ltd, a Gold Coast company offering clients accounting, finance, estate building, and funding services. Anya also studied Italian at the Università degli Studi di Bergamo in Italy.

Margot and Anya's Relationship through the Years

Anya and her younger sister Margot are very close. Anya was Margot's bridesmaid at her glamorous 2016 wedding to film producer and actor Tom Ackerley. Sarie walked Margot down the aisle, but their father, Doug, was not present.

When Anya turned 30 in 2019, Margot fulfilled an old promise. She offered to take Anya anywhere she wanted on holiday. Anya asked to travel on the world-famous Ghan train.

The train transverses Australia's Northern Territory between Adelaide and Darwin through some of the world's most austere and fabulously beautiful regions. The sisters shared the Australian adventure, which included camel rides and kangaroo cuddling.

The sisters' trip took place in May 2019, shortly after their grandmother Verna passed away at 92 in April 2019. The family held back the funeral so Margot could travel from the United States to Australia to be present at her beloved grandmother's graveside.
