Sophie Skelton rose to fame after being cast as Brianna Fraser in the hit Starz series "Outlander" with co-stars Caitríona Balfe, Tobias Menzies, Sam Heughan, Jeff Gum, and Richard Rankin.
The actress was born on March 7, 1994, in Woodford, Greater Manchester, in the United Kingdom. Skelton, the youngest of three children born to toy inventors, manifested a passion for dance from a very young age.
Skelton studied ballet at the Royal Academy before focusing on theater and acting. She started guesting in British TV series and starring in films in 2012, and in 2016 she was cast as Brianna in "Outlander."
As Brianna, Skelton is a woman torn between two eras and trying to make a life for herself in pre-revolutionary America with a man she loves. So far, the actress is known to have dated only one man -- actor Jeff Gum.

Sophie Skelton Was Only Linked to One Person in the Past
Actor/producer Jeff Gum and Skelton share one credit: the 2018 horror "Day of the Dead: Bloodline." He also produced the 2019 Sylvester Stallone film, "Rambo: Last Blood."
Gum was Sophie Skelton's boyfriend, and the two were a feature at red-carpet events like the 2019 SAG Awards. The couple was Instagram official in 2019, and Gum posted several photos of Skelton and even sent her birthday wishes.
Rankin joked about his first love scene with Skelton and revealed that he prepared for it by eating fish and seafood.
Since then, the actor has made his Instagram account private. The relationship seems to have ended quietly, and neither Gum nor Skelton has referred to it or the circumstances surrounding the breakup.
Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin's Onscreen Chemistry Makes Fans Wonder If They Are Together in Real Life
Skelton has been working with actor Richard Rankin since 2016 on "Outlander," and the two play a passionate couple -- Brianna Fraser and Roger Wakefield MacKenzie. He is so in love with her that he follows her from the UK in the 1960s to pre-revolutionary America.
The chemistry between the actors over the years has led fans to wonder if that spark might light a fire off-screen and on, but it seems that Rankin and Skelton are good friends and nothing more.
Rankin joked about his first love scene with Skelton and revealed that he prepared for it by eating fish and seafood, to his co-star's disgust. He said:
“The best thing to do before a kissing scene is to eat lobster or as much fish as you can cram in your face. (...)The normal kiss is done; it’s so uninspiring. But if you’ve got a lobster tail hanging out the side of your mouth, it’s much better.”
Sophie Skelton Appears Not to Have a Boyfriend These Days
There is no romance there, even though Skelton has revealed that she'd like to put a tracker on Rankin because he tends to wander off-set whenever they are getting ready to shoot a scene. She explained:
"Caitriona [Balfe] and I always joke that we're kind of the babysitters for Sam [Heughan] and Richard. Sometimes it's like, ‘we're ready to go, Richard, come on.'"
It seems that there is no significant other in Sophie Skelton's life at the moment, and she is enjoying her life and her work and focusing on her career.
