Carl Jacobsen Mikkelsen Is Now Grown-up - Meet Mads Mikkelsen’s Son

Although Carl Jacobsen Mikkelsen was raised out of the public eye, his mother has shared pictures of him and his sister on her social media, where fans noticed his striking resemblance to his father. While it's unclear what his current job is, he revealed that he served mandatory time in the army.

After Carl's parents tied the knot, they welcomed his older sister, Viola, in 1992 and him a few years later in 1997. Carl and his sister were raised away from the spotlight despite his father's success on the Hollywood acting scene.

Fans could only catch a glimpse of the family of four together on Carl's parents' social media and during the few public appearances he made over the years. However, he has also shared aspects of his life online, including his close relationship with his family.

Carl Jacobsen Mikkelsen Did Not Follow in Dad's Footsteps but Visited Filming Sets

In June 2020, Carl shared a picture of himself in Danish military uniform, ready for mandatory military service for all physically fit men over 18, typically lasting four months. His mom was one proud mother when she posted a picture of her smiling beside her son in his uniform.

And in the comments section of her Instagram post, social media users showed their support as one person wrote, "I hope it's fun and fulfilling for you." Another shared, "Respect. Thank you for defending our fatherland."

Although Carl never pursued a career in front of the camera like his father, he did spend much of his childhood on sets whenever his dad took on a project.

His dad, who became a homebody whenever he was on the road shooting films, shared that Carl, his mother, and his sister would join the actor on his shooting sites whenever they could.

At other times, when Carl's father was not working on anything, he would be at home spending time with his children for months. Carl's father said:

"...I can also be home three or four months doing nothing, so I probably see my kids more than people who work constantly all year long. If that changes, we'll have to have a family meeting."

Aside from being able to spend time with his father despite his profession, Carl's dad shared that his kids gave him extra brownie points when he starred in Rihanna's music video for her hit single "B***h Better Have My Money." "When I mentioned it to my kids, my brownie points like … skyrocketed," Carl's father jokingly shared.

Carl Jacobsen Mikkelsen Loves to Travel the World With His Family

From time to time, Carl takes to Instagram to document his close-knit family's travels around the world, from trips to Japan to watch sumo wrestling, to hiking 5,200 meters up Rainbow Mountain in Peru.

In 2019, he posted a picture of himself gripping a trophy in Spain, followed by a snap of a scenic street in Vietnam. In March 2022, Carl shared a collection of pictures and videos of him and his sister having fun in the water while they snorkeled with the ocean's wildlife in the Maldives.

Aside from traveling with his family, Carl has stepped out with his parents and sister during rare public appearances, including in 2013 when he smiled into the camera with his mother and father at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

Fans Couldn't Help but Notice Carl's Striking Resemblance to His Father

In June 2021, Carl's mother shared a photo of him and his sister, and fans took to the comments section to express how much he looked like his father.

"What a beautiful family!!! Viola is your 'mini-me,' and Carl looks just like his father," one person wrote, and another person typed, "They look like you and Mads."

Carl proved fans' observation of his resemblance to his father to be correct when he shared a family photo with his parents and his father giving him a sweet peck.
