Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick Had Fun at the Vanity Fair Party Playing UNO with Stars
While Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick skipped the Oscars, they walked the carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscars party in chic matching outfits. Inside the star-studded party, the two actors rubbed shoulders with fellow Hollywood stars after they were seated at the "most poppin' table."
Following his attendance at one of the most talked about award shows after party, Bacon took to Instagram to document his night with his wife and revealed that they had played an "intense" game of UNO with Queen Latifah, Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.
Bacon and Sedgwick arrived for their date night at the Oscars afterparty dressed in all black. And while he kept it classic in a black tie, Sedgwick added an edge to her look when she paired it with thigh-high faux leather boots and shoulder pads.
The annual event was held at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, and according to reports, Teigen and Legend were the ones who brought the fun to their table. A Vanity Fair "spy" alleged the couple "brought a deck of Uno cards" to the afterparty because "they wanted their table to be the 'most poppin'.'"
Despite their years as actors and numerous accolades, neither Bacon nor Sedgwick has ever won an Oscar. However, they are highly decorated actors. Of her five Emmy nominations, Sedgwick won the award in 2010 as well as awards from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.
She was a nominee at the Chicago Film Critics Association Awards in 1996, won at the Denver International Film Festival in 2017, and has been nominated for and won multiple Golden Globes over the years.
Her husband, famous for his roles in "Mystic River," "FK," "Apollo 13," "A Few Good Men, "Footloose," "Murder in the First" and "The River Wild," has also earned a Golden Globe win for his performances, as well as a Primetime Emmy, a Blockbuster Entertainment Award, a Boston Society of Film Critics Award, a Critics Choice Award, and many more.
However, when Bacon and Sedgwick met, he was an unknown actor performing in a play and she was 12. Although Sedgwick said Kevin Bacon was not her type at first, they co-starred in a film and the couple married on September 4, 1988.
“[Our relationship] is like a treasure; there are layers and layers of it. I'm constantly amazed that we are still surprised and interested in each other," Sedgwick said.
