What became of their children?
For 2023's Valentine's Day, Kevin Bacon took to his Instagram account to share a throwback picture of him and his wife while she was pregnant. The star also declared his undying love to Kyra Sedgwick, who had been with him for 34 years at that stage.
The couple first came across each other in 1978 when they were much younger, and she was a fan. Kevin was working on his off-Broadway play "Getting Out" when he decided to get some lunch, and a young fan approached him with her older brother.
The fan was Sedgwick, then 12, and while the actor didn't recall the meeting, it was fate. They later met again while working together on "Lemon Sky" in 1987 when she was older, and that's when they fell in love.
After the duo fell for each other, they were inseparable and got engaged on December 24, 1987, and married on September 4, 1988. The Valentine's Day post Kevin made for his wife in 2023 led some fans to share their thoughts.
Kevin Posts a Tender Picture of His Pregnant Wife: She Comments It On
In Kevin's loving post, he wished his "heart" a Happy Valentine's Day and revealed that he'd be "forever" hers. Sedgwick became quite nostalgic while responding in the comments of the post and that she was in Lone Pine, California, and nine months pregnant at the time.
The actress confessed to spending her days watching Oprah Winfrey's show and eating Bon Bons. The star also revealed that the height of her day was on the set of her husband's 1990 movie, "Tremors;" fans also got nostalgic.

A fan who hadn't seen Sedgwick's comment guessed that the picture was taken on the set of one of their favorite classics, "Tremors." A second person also thought the image was from Kevin's old movie and believed they might be the only person who'd loved the movie and watched it many times, while another follower wrote:
"Classy. Thanks for taking marriage so seriously!!!!!!"

Someone else asked Kevin to tell them the trick to staying happy because they always seemed joyous. One of the methods the couple used to remain so happy throughout the years was that they were both willing to make sacrifices.
Kyra Sacrificed Her Career for Their Children - Kevin Did the Same Later
On June 23, 1989, Kevin and his wife welcomed their first child, Travis, in Los Angeles. Sedgwick confessed that she and her husband impulsively decided on their honeymoon to have children by choosing not to use birth control.

The actress said she hadn't expected the pregnancy to happen fast, but within two weeks, she was expecting. The couple's second child, Sosie Ruth, was born in March 1992, and in 2019, Kevin admitted how his wife had made more sacrifices than him.
While Kevin [Bacon] fans know he loves music, his son [Travis Bacon] also took after him.
He explained that when Sedgwick started having children, she wanted to be there for them and made career decisions that weren't best for her work. The duo stayed in New York to raise their offspring despite Los Angeles having more work.
When there was an opportunity for the actress to star in "The Closer," their children were in junior high and high school. Kevin didn't consider it a sacrifice to stay with their children so his wife could go to California to be the show's lead, recalling himself stating:
"I’ll stay home, I won’t take anything."
Despite his heartfelt choice, the actor hoped he didn't get any great offers during that time. Sedgwick admitted to working less when their children were younger and felt lucky that she and her husband didn't both have to work during that time.
The couple set their priorities and learned what worked and what didn't. By 2023, both Kevin and Sedgwick's children were adults, and they'd both followed in their parents' career footsteps to make a living.
What Became of Their Children, Travis and Sosie?
While Kevin fans know he loves music, his son also took after him. Travis has worked as a composer for some television films and shorts, including "Space Oddity," which his mother directed.
He also performed with metal bands and was a member of the White Widows Pact. In 2016, he joined the black metal group Black Anvil and played on their 2017 album, "As Was." In January 2023, he performed with Contra Cult and was involved in the horror film outfit #Slashtag.
Sosie started working in the entertainment industry by starring in "Loverboy" and later appeared in several "The Closer" episodes. Kevin's daughter was also featured on "Narcos: Mexico," "13 Reasons Why," and "Mare of Easttown."
In 2022, she starred in the film "Smile," and in January 2023, she and her father appeared in a hilarious Hyundai advert. While she might've followed in their footsteps, Sosie confessed that she didn't watch her parents' movies often because when she was younger, their projects were inappropriate.
