Kyra Sedgwick & Kevin Bacon Share Old Photos to Wish Daughter Sosie Bacon a Happy Birthday
Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon were stars of the movie "Loverboy" and gave their children, Sosie and Travis Bacon, their first casting. Sosie has since grown into a seasoned actress with many projects. She celebrated her birthday yesterday with the help of her parents.
Sosie Bacon celebrated her 31st birthday yesterday, with her parents adding to the actress's birthday love. Sosie's mother, the protagonist of "The Closer," Kyra Sedgwick, shared a throwback photo of herself holding Sosie as a baby.
We see a much younger Sosie wrapped in a towel and laughing as her mother talks into her ear. Kyra simply wished her daughter a happy birthday in the caption of her post, which surpassed 12,000 likes in just 18 hours.
The 31-year-old birthday girl responded to her mother's post, simply writing "Love you, mommy" in the comments. Sosie's father, Kevin Bacon, also shared a throwback photo on Instagram, wishing her a happy birthday.
The "Footloose" star wrote that he was a lucky dad, and his wife, Kyra, responded in the comments with extreme praise for the image on the actor's post, calling it the best.
This is not the first time Sosie was wished a happy birthday by her parents on social media. In 2019, the actress's father left a sweet message next to a photo of Kyra and a young bald Sosie. "Happy birthday to my beautiful little girl @sosiebacon life with you is a joy. I'm so proud of you and all you do. All my love," he wrote.
Sosie Follows in Her Parents' Footsteps
Kevin was featured in New York Magazine's Q&A channel on June 7, 2006. Among the many questions he was asked, the reporter queried about Kevin previously stating he would not get his children involved in the media for their protection.
The reporter noted that Kevin went against his word and later cast Sosie in "Loverboy," a series in which he starred along with his wife and Roberta Mastromichele's boyfriend, Matt Dillon. Sosie played the ten-year-old version of her mother's character, Emily. Kevin explained why he decided to do so:
"But that's what happens when you're a director. You'll do anything to get a shot. In this case, it was just sort of a perfect part, to play Kyra's character as a girl. I just couldn't resist it."

Sosie has since climbed the ranks in Hollywood, featuring in many projects and as an actress in 32 of them. Her most notable roles are Rose Cotter in the movie "Smile" with poised-to-be-married actor Kal Penn and playing Carrie Layden in "Mare of Easttown," led by Kate Winslet, who was criticized for her look on the show.
At 21 in 2014, Sosie was titled Miss Golden Globe, much to the pleasure of her Golden Globe-winning parents. Her father advised her ahead of the big night at the awards show, simply telling her to get used to walking in her heels. "Don't trip!" he joked, with full faith and pride in his daughter.

Sosie Has a Brother as Well
Sosie is not the only one that Kevin was referring to when he spoke about keeping his children out of showbiz. She has a brother named Travis Bacon, three years her senior, born on June 23, 1989. He is in the entertainment industry but as a musician and producer.
The 2005 movie "Loverboy," directed by Kevin, was a family affair, as both his children got their first casting in the project. We have already established that Sosie played her mother's character as a child, but Travis also had a part in the film as a supporting character.
Travis is known for being the frontman of his band, CONTRACULT Collective—yes, all capital letters, the loudness associated with industrial metal music.
