Her career began in 2010 as a costume trainee for the series "Upstairs Downstairs." She later joined the "Lark Rise to Candleford" staff before working as a personal dresser and wardrobe mistress on the "Downton Abbey" set.

In 2014, Macey became the principal costume standby on the set of "Into the Woods." Soon after, she worked as a costume assistant and supervisor in "Broadchurch."
