Fans have been incredibly blessed since "Downton Abbey" started airing on TV more than ten years ago. The drama series follows the lives of the wealthy Crawleys and the staff they employed to help take care of their luxurious abode.

Some of the show's most beloved stars, including Laura Carmichael, Michelle Dockery, and Elizabeth McGovern, were among those who attended the event.
They were all perfectly attired for the gathering. The new movie is expected to be released on May 18. It follows the Crawley family as they journey to the South of France to uncover the mystery of the dowager countess's new inheritance.
WHAT IS "DOWNTON ABBEY: A NEW ERA" ABOUT?
"Downton Abbey" started as a famous British period drama, and it ran for six seasons on PBS until 2015. However, it was not until 2019 that it received its first follow-up film, which was only available in cinemas upon release.
Eventually, it was made available to stream on Peacock, and fans who fell in love with the franchise patiently waited for the sequel, which is finally here after many delays.
There was a royal visit from King George V and Queen Mary in the first film. Still, this sequel will reportedly be focused on Lady Violet and her past romantic life, which led to her gaining ownership of a luxurious villa in France.
When the Granthams heard about Lady Violet's previous lover, they were confused because it was their first time thinking that far.
Indeed, it was the first time they heard that she had a relationship before Lord Grantham's father, and it saw them determined to get to the bottom of it, so they took a trip to France to delve into Lady Violet's past.
It has a refreshing feel, but it is not the only plot point viewers will get to watch play out; one of the latest trailers revealed also showed new faces.
One was a Hollywood movie director, and the other two were actors who would help him achieve his desire to film at Downton.
Lord Grantham was shown hesitating, but Lady Mary seemed to be all for it, even assisting them during production at Downton.
The Trailer shows a potential intimate conversation between the pair and depicts them getting closer in her husband's absence.
Tom and Lucy are shown at their wedding ceremonies, while Daisy and Andy got married before the beginning of the sequel.
WILL THERE BE A NEW "DOWNTON ABBEY" MOVIE?
Some of the storylines of this new film reportedly seem like an ending, and the brain behind the franchise, Julian Fellowes, has revealed that he can't vouch for what the future will bring. Fellowes said:
"I don't know the answer to that; the truth is if they want more and the cast want to do more, then I'm sure we'll find a way of delivering more."
He also acknowledged that it would be a lot to fit the colossal world they built in the series into movie adaptations; however, he did not categorically state that it could not be done.
The sequel that will be released soon will allegedly round off many of the storylines, but there will always be something cooking.
