Katie Couric Tries to Look Chic in All-Black Outfit & Cape at 66 & Fans Approve of Her Appearance
Katie Couric, who disregarded comments about her physical aging, received a stamp of approval from fans after showcasing her outfit recently. The anchor had enjoyed a date night with her husband; the pair went out to watch a Broadway show.
Katie Couric wowed fans in a recent Instagram update about her date with her husband, John Molner. The iconic anchor rocked a beige Ellie Tahari cape over an all-black outfit, attempting to channel what she called "tres chic." She opted for minimal accessorizing, rounding off her ensemble with mid-sized silver hoops and leather gloves.
Couric and her husband had attended the Broadway musical, "Some Like It Hot," by Marc Shaiman. She shared several pictures depicting the special night's events, including meeting the actors after the show. She expressed how enamored she was with their performance, describing them as "incredible," "multi-talented," and "AWESOME."
The post garnered a comment section full of praises, primarily for Couric's look for the night. Author Lori Gottlieb was among those who gave their stamp of approval, saying Couric looked "like one of the cast members!" Another user complimented her pants, inquiring about where she'd acquired them.
Despite the positive feedback she received under her post, however, there have been naysayers in the past. Couric, who's been married for nearly a decade to Molner, has had to deal with people commenting on how she'd visibly aged. She acknowledged the societal pressure on women to maintain a youthful appearance but found beauty in visible aging effects.

In her mid-60s, Couric has embraced "looking older" and called for the world to make aging "less of a novelty." As she grows older, the newswoman has also been focusing more on her "internal self" than her external and indulging more in what makes her happy: engaging the world.
Katie Couric Showed Her Vulnerability When She Did a Makeup-Free Photoshoot
Couric, who received a cancer diagnosis last year, was initially reluctant to go make-up free for her cover with People Magazine. But after agreeing, she said she found it "liberating." She added that she also felt vulnerable, but going "make-up" free made the experience all the more authentic.
She explained that "being true to who you are and how you look" felt great and was "a huge dose of reality." Still, Couric, who once went on a date with the late Bob Saget, candidly noted that make-up made people feel prettier because it enhanced their features, the only function she felt make-up was good for. She advocated that aging be seen as beautiful, especially in women.
