What Was Jodie Sweetin's Fourth Marriage Like?

In the summer of 2022, Sweetin married her boyfriend of five years, Mescal Wasilewski, in an intimate ceremony at home in Malibu.

The couple was joined by Sweetin's daughters, Zoie and Beatrix, and some of the "Full House" cast-mates, such as John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, and Andrea Barber.

Sweetin couldn't have been happier on her big day and to finally be stepping into a forever with her husband, "I know I have the right partner for the rest of whatever life brings me. And I couldn't be more grateful," expressed the actress.

The actress wore a beautiful white wedding gown from Lili Bridals and was walked down the aisle by her father, Sam. Sweetin's two daughters stood beside them as she and Wasilewski said their vows.

The couple ensured their children were part of their life-changing decision, so they also received matching yellow-gold circles of gratitude necklaces.

The wedding had 50 guests, and the reception was kept fun a simple with a tacos and a guacamole bar. Sweetin said she did not want to be fussy; she just wanted a good time with good food and fun company under twinkle lights.

Sweetin's co-star Bure shared pictures from the beautiful day. "Jodie, you were a stunning bride and simply radiated", she wrote. The images included the newlyweds walking down the aisle, some group photos with her guest, and the married couple kissing as husband and wife.

The journey to walking down the aisle was difficult because Sweetin and her husband started in a long-distance relationship.

The actress lived in Los Angeles, and Wasilewski was in New York, but in 2020 he moved to L. A and "all the pieces came into place," said Sweetin.

Sweetin credits their strong connection to the support they have for one another. She praised her husband for letting her be who she was and being present in her daughters' lives. The actress could not have asked for a better teammate.

What Were Jodie Sweeting Previous Marriages Like?

Before finding happiness with Wasilewski, Sweetin first married police officer Shaun Golguin whom she met when she was 20.

At the time, Sweetin said she did not intend on acting for a long time because she had other things she wanted to explore, like teaching acting and starting a family with Golguin.

However, a few years later, Sweetin went into something that would consume her life for many years. She tried meth for the first time, and six months later, she was addicted.

The actress even recalled attending the Olsen twins' movie premiere, "The New York Minute," high on meth, which was held during the day.

Sweetin managed to keep her drug use a secret for a while. Her weight went from 130 pounds to 100, but no one in her family knew the reason behind it.

After she graduated from Chapman college in 2005, she started leading a double life until one night out ended her in the hospital. This was when Sweetin told her family she had a problem and needed help.

The actress spent six weeks undergoing inpatient treatment at Promises in Malibu. While she was there, she lived in sober living, but during this time, Sweetin and Golguin decided to end their marriage.

Sweetin admitted that many trust issues emerged from her constant lying but reiterated that the divorce was amicable.

However, after her divorce, she focused on her recovery and landed a job as the host of "Pants off Dance off," where she met her second husband, Cody Herpin, in May 2007.

The two were married in July of the same year, and in 2008 they welcomed their daughter Zoie. After becoming a mother, Sweetin wrote her memoir "From Meth Addict to Mom."

Unfortunately, her romance with Herpin was short-lived. Sweetin filed for a legal separation and cited that her house was in foreclosure and several of her bills were unpaid.

Herpin had quit his job after they got married, and most of the expenses were paid from her "Full House" residuals and her parents' contributions.

Herpin fought for sole custody because he reasoned he was a stay-at-home father, and his job was caring for his daughter, Zoie. However, the divorce dragged on and was only finalized in 2010.

This ended up with Sweetin being ordered to pay $600 in child support. Eventually, she was issued to pay $10,000 in retroactive support along with $2000 monthly for Zoie until she turned 18.

In the midst of the chaos, Sweetin welcomed her second daughter, Beatrix, with DJ Morty Coyle in 2010. He proposed to her on her 29th birthday in 2011.

The two married in 2012 but only announced the news after a year. The former couple said they wanted to keep it private and thought their first anniversary was the best time to announce it.

However, yet again, the domestic bliss was not long-lasting. Sweetin confessed that after the breakup, she relapsed. She and her daughters had to move in with her parents and to top it off, she was involved in a car accident and had to deal with an addiction to painkillers.

Sweetin and Coyle filed for divorce in 2015 and the DJ wished his ex-wife a good life with everything she wanted. He said they will continue to support and co-parent their girls. The divorce was eventually finalized, and the former couple agreed on shared custody of their daughter Beatrix.
