Robert Irwin Reminds Fans of His Dad as He Announces That the Steve Irwin Gala Is Coming to America

In a recent Instagram video, fans could not help but notice Robert Irwin's resemblance to his late father. Since Steve Irwin's passing, his son— who is also an uncle— has kept his father's memory alive and inherited his passion for photography.

On March 21, Robert took to Instagram to announce that the Steve Irwin Gala would make its way to American shores after a three-year stall due to the pandemic. In the clip, Robert's good looks and "cute" smile resembled his father's, and fans couldn't help but notice.

"Remind (of) your dad! Nice Family," one person wrote in the comments section of the Instagram post, while another shared, "Congratulations, Robert. I know you'll make your late dad proud." A fan of Robert's father typed, "I was a fan of your dad's show. It makes me happy that you are his son. Such a handsome and sweet man."

Another fan shared, "Dude. I am so proud of you. I remember as a kid watching your dad, and you seriously honor him so respectfully and genuinely that it's beautiful." Another social media user commented, "Your accent is so dang cute. You sound so much like your dad." A sixth person wrote, "Your father is really proud of you, Robert!"

Robert often takes to social media to pay tribute to his dad on special occasions, such as Steve's birthday in February. On Steve Irwin Day in November 2022, Robert shared a throwback of him and his dad and captioned the post in part:

" It never ceases to amaze me what an impact Dad had on the world when I see people in every corner of the globe celebrating his life and legacy on this special day."

In early February, Robert celebrated both of his parents on their 31st engagement anniversary and shared, "I love my mum and dad so much… I'm proud to be their son."

During an interview, Robert gushed about his niece and revealed his aspirations to continue his father's legacy by spreading Steve Irwin's message to the rest of the world. "We have to create as much positive change as we can for our environment and our fellow humans as well," he said.

Robert Irwin also honored his late father when he released his photography book, a passion Steve introduced to his son he was a little boy. Although it was a project placed on the back burner for a while, Robert decided to act on it. "I want... something that really celebrates what has become my own individual way to carry on my father's legacy," Robert shared.
