Alexa Chung's parents have always been involved and supportive of her pursuits. As a teen, they allowed Alexa to express herself through style, with her father as her hairstylist. Now successful in many fields, Alexa remains close to her parents.

Model, influencer, and television personality are just some of the professions Alexa Chung successfully practices, and her parents are undoubtedly proud. As a television presenter, she won three British Style Awards and had a Mulberry bag named after her.

She later became a fashion designer, launching her own label. Unfortunately, Alexa's clothing brand closed in 2022 due to the effects of COVID-19.

Like several other London-based labels during the pandemic, her brand failed to become profitable. "I am immensely proud of everything we have achieved. It has been the most incredible experience, and I have relished learning as much as I have," she said.

While her business shut down, Chung's legacy in the fashion industry remains through her work and book, "It."

Alexa Chung's Parents and Their Four Children Were from a Middle-Class Family

Before the glitz and glamor, Alexa grew up as one of four children in a middle-class family. Her partly Chinese father, Philip Chung, worked as a graphic designer and artist. Meanwhile, her mother, Gillian Chung, was a housewife. They celebrated 40 years of marriage in 2023.

The couple had three children, Natalie, Jamie, and Dominic, before welcoming their youngest child, Alexa, on November 5, 1983. They raised them in Hampshire, England, in what Alexa remembered as "a quiet sleepy place."

Unlike her sister, Alexa Chung does not have kids. However, she was linked to Tom Sturridge in 2022 after being spotted locking lips in public.

As the youngest child, Alexa admitted she was somewhat of a brat and asked for a pony at the age of six. Unlike most girls, she did receive a New Forest pony named Pippin. Looking back, Alexa considers Pippin her first great love.

Alexa Chung's Father Was Her Hairstylist in Her Teenage Years

Alexa Chung's parents were present and involved in her life during her growing years. However, they did not interfere with her choice to experiment with style.

After watching her mother use makeup and nail polish, Alexa would do the same. By 11, she became bold in fashion and would wear dark brown lipstick and silver eyeshadow.

Alexa also tried new hair colors. Although Philip became her hairstylist as a teen, she chose to dye her hair a light brassy orange. She recalled:

"My mother let me dye my hair like Ginger Spice because I thought she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen."

While her style continuously evolved, Alexa's mother suggested she learn to play the piano. The fashion icon now regrets turning a blind eye to Gillian's suggestion.

Alexa Chung's parents remained supportive as she transitioned into adulthood and followed her pursuits. They often cheered for their daughter and attended her shows. Alexa even took her dad as her date to the fourth annual national Portrait Gallery Gala in 2017, where they met Kate Middleton.
