Brandon Flowers' wife, Tana Mundkowsky, met the Killers' frontman when they both led modest lives in Las Vegas. Their love story began in the 2000s, and although they've kept their romance relatively private, Flowers has honored his love and dedication for Mundkowsky in his craft.

Brandon Flowers stole many hearts as the frontman of The Killers, but the rock vocalist only had eyes for one woman, and it was Tana Mundkowsky. If there's one thing the lovers had in common, it was their reluctance to give out their numbers freely, but they both made an exception on the day they met.

Since marrying, the couple has welcomed three sons into their union. And although they've been thriving, their family life has had its share of challenges. Flowers got candid about some of them in 2017, revealing his wife's struggle with a mental illness that once forced him to cancel several solo gigs two years prior.

Brandon Has Been a Married Man since 2005

Flowers tied the knot with Mundkowsky in Hawaii on August 2, 2005. The intimate ceremony, attended by close family and friends and The Killers bandmates and crew, occurred during the band's vacation following a year on the road touring for their album, "Hot Fuss." They all celebrated afterward.

Brandon's Wife Gave Him Her Number When They Met

Though perhaps not without a bit of reluctance. During his 2017 chat with GQ Magazine, Flowers told the publication that he wasn't one to share his number with just anyone and said his wife insisted she was the same. But on the day they met, she was "brave enough" to share it with him.

Flowers was at a thrift store with a bandmate, looking to curate an outfit for The Killers' first gig, when he caught sight of Mundkowsky. She was a retail manager at the time and had stopped at the secondhand shop on her way to work. Flowers mustered the courage to ask for her number, and she agreed.

However, when he returned home that night, he nearly had cold feet as he deliberated on whether he'd look "too desperate" if he called. Against all doubt, he did, and the rest is history. As he and Mundkowsky prepared to relocate in 2017, they found the note with her number. It was a nostalgic moment for the pair, as they still had the page from which it was ripped — it still fit perfectly.

Brandon Flowers Once Shared That His Wife Battled Mental Health Issues

Flowers shared that Mundkowsky battled Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD), a mental illness that complicated their family life. He explained that compared to other variations of PTSD, this one arose from a series of traumatic events in an individual's life.

In 2015, he canceled his solo gigs to remain and comfort his wife, who was battling suicidal ideation. The couple sought the help Mundkowsky needed, and Flowers noted that their relationship wouldn't have survived without it. Still, he was determined to understand her, and he did so through his craft.

The songwriter revealed that his wife's struggles were penned in The Killers' album, "Wonderful Wonderful." The lovers also moved from Las Vegas to Flowers's native Utah, as much of the city carried triggers for Mundkowsky. It was bittersweet for Flowers as Vegas held a lot of nostalgia for him, but he looked forward to spending time with his kids in his hometown.

Brandon Has 3 Children with His Wife

The couple welcomed their first son, Ammon Flowers, in July 2007 and had their second, Gunner Flowers, two years later on July 28. They completed their family of five with one more boy, Henry, in April 2011. However, unlike other rockstars like Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler, or Jon Bon Jovi, Flowers has kept their family life under wraps.
