Pete Wentz Was in No Hurry to Leave His Parents' House

Pete Wentz's parents welcomed him in Illinois on June 5, 1979. He is the eldest of three siblings; he has a younger brother and a sister. His ancestry includes German and English roots from his paternal side and Jamaican roots from his maternal side.

Pete's grandfather was a cousin of the late general Colin Powell, who served as the U.S. ambassador to Sierra Leone from 1983 to 1986. Pete Wentz's parents' careers are far from the entertainment industry. His father worked as an attorney, and his mother was a school administrator.

Even though there were times when he didn't get along with his parents, Pete said his dad supported him when he was just getting started with his career, and he would attend his rock band shows.

Being in the band needed a lot of commitment and dedication; as a result, it was difficult for Pete to focus on his studies. So Pete Wentz's parents told him to take a year's break from college to focus on the band. Little did he know that that would be the end of his college years. He dropped out to focus on the band.

He revealed that as much as he wanted to get his own place, his parents preferred if he lived with them. And whenever he told his dad that he wanted to move out, he wouldn't allow him. But still, his parents would yell at him whenever he got home late and woke them up.

In 2020, Pete shared a throwback photo of him and his parents alongside a captivating story on his Instagram page about how his parents' love story began. He wrote:

"My parents met working for Joe Biden in the Senate in the 70s. To me, he is a beacon of empathy, compassion, and kindness. The times we live in call for a leader with these specific traits. Proud to call Joe Biden my president."

In an interview with Fathering Excellence, Pete's father stated he was grateful to have worked for President Biden because if that weren't the case, he wouldn't have met his wife, and his children would not have existed.

While Pete's father now works as an Executive Director of APCO worldwide, he said there were times when he and Biden would stay in touch.

Pete's parents' connection with Biden isn't just because they support his political career. After working together for a few years, they developed a close friendship, and President Biden even attended their wedding.

In several Interviews, Pete has opened up about his parents' friendship with Biden. He said he wouldn't have existed at one point if it were not for Biden.

When Biden won the elections, Fall Out Boy was invited to perform at the "We The People" concert during Biden's inauguration ceremony. Fans were surprised by Pete's connection with POTUS, and his relationship with Pete's parents sparked conversations on social media.
