Carole King is widely known for the music she wrote for Broadway. Later, the singer decided to make a name for herself as a solo artist. The "(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman" songstress married Gerry Goffin in 1959, and the pair had two children together.

Gerry was Carole's first husband, and the pair shared two daughters, Louise Goffin, and Sherry Goffin. They welcomed the oldest, Louise, in 1960 and Sherry in 1962. By the time 1969 rolled around, however, Carole and Gerry decided to divorce.

In 1970, Carole found love again with the musician Charles Larkey. The pair also had two children together, Molly Larkey in 1971 and a son, Levi Larkey, in 1974. Sadly, Carole and Charles also decided to go their separate ways in 1976. Carole's third husband, Rick Evers, passed away after they were together for only one year.

In 1982, Carole married for a fourth and final time, tying the knot with Rick Sorenson. They ended their marriage in 1989 and refrained from having kids together. Throughout the years, Carole devoted her attention to raising her kids, keeping them from the spotlight. Eventually, though, many of her kids decided to go into entertainment as well.

Carole also likes to show her grandkids off on her social media pages. The granny-of-five has often posted pictures of her grandkids, Dillon Kondor, Sophie Kondor, Elijah Wells, Hayden Wells, and Ocean Larkey. The musician adores her grandkids and shared that her nickname is simply "Grandma."

It seems Carole's musical prowess has seeped into her offspring. Many of her kids decided to follow their mom into the entertainment industry, with Louise becoming a successful singer-songwriter. Likewise, Sherry also found the music industry ripe with opportunity and makes a living as a music producer.

Unlike her siblings, Molly chose a different creative field. She became a thriving artist instead of a musician. Even Carole's grandkids have been bitten by the music bug. Dillon plays guitar and sings, and Elijah and Hayden make a living as musicians as well. Sophie decided to major in business.

In 2010, Carole went on what she believed would be her very last tour. The "Troubadours Reunion" concert with her contemporary James Taylor was supposed to be Carole's exit from the music industry. She realized that popular taste wasn't what it was when she was at the top of the charts. She commented:

"I suppose if I had a reason to, if someone said I want you to write a song for this movie, I could sit down and do that. But to just write songs and to throw them out into the marketplace, I don't think this is my time to do that."

The artist returned a few years after taking a break from making music. In 2018, however, Carole found the inspiration to come back and rewrite one of her classic songs. Carole dusted off her hit 1977 song, "One," and added a new verse to the end. "One" has always focussed on injustice, and the new lyric rang:
