Because he keeps his romantic relationships away from the media, many people wonder who James Roday's wife is. His social media posts suggest the actor is single and focused on his career.

Although he has many acting credits, such as "Pushing Dead" and "A Million Little Things," James Roday is widely known for his notable role as Shawn Spencer in the popular television series "Psych."

As a public figure, Roday's personal life sometimes makes headlines, especially when it involves his romantic pursuits.

The actor previously fell for his "Psych" co-star, Maggie Lawson, and dated her for several years. Unfortunately, their relationship ended with a breakup.

James Roday Was in a Relationship with His Co-star Once

Roday and Lawson first crossed paths in 2006 while filming for the smash-hit series. Working side-by-side allowed the couple more time to spend with each other. Interestingly, they also played on-screen love interests.

Roday brought to life the character Shawn Spencer, a detective using his fake psychic ability to solve crimes for the Santa Barbara Police Department. Meanwhile, Lawson played Juliet O'Hara, an officer, and detective who fell for Spencer.

Sadly, their relationship did not last. After nearly a decade of dating, the entertainers called it quits in 2014, the same year "Psych" ended. Roday has since kept his romantic pursuits away from prying eyes.

The 'A Million Little Things' Star Seems to Be Single Now, per His Social Media

The actor's recent social media posts focus on work as he stars in a new series, "A Million Little Things." Often, he posts behind-the-scene glimpses with his co-stars.

Besides his work and advocacy, Roday is open about his long-time friendship with Dule Hill, his "Psych" co-star. Although it has been nine years since the show ended, the duo has a strong connection.

If not career-related, Roday's posts are about animal welfare, his advocacy, or recent events, with no indication of a relationship.

James Roday Has a Big Heart Occupied Mostly by a Dog Rescue Organization

Roday uses his voice to spread awareness about homeless dogs and encourage others to show compassion. He also uses his resources to fund Roadogs Rescue, a non-profit organization focused on dog rescues and rehabilitation. Their website reads:

"These Lovable Lemons are often dumped at shelters or abandoned at veterinary clinics waiting to be euthanized, but we see them as just differently beautiful and differently-abled. They, too, deserve to live amazing lives!"

Roday shared several photos and videos of his successful rescues on social media, most of them have physically transformed to a better state.

He also sometimes shares touching stories about abandoned or mistreated animals who, unfortunately, have already crossed the rainbow bridge. Roday often shares his love with animals in need.

Apart from His Private Life, James Roday Has an Enduring Friendship with Co-star Dule Hill

Besides his work and advocacy, Roday is open about his long-time friendship with Dule Hill, his "Psych" co-star. Although it has been nine years since the show ended, the duo has a strong connection.

Hill, who played Burton Guster on the show, considers Roday his brother and made him a groomsman during his 2018 wedding. Their on-screen chemistry stemmed from the friendship they formed behind the scenes.

Like Roday and Hill, many actors formed a good relationship with their co-stars and remained good friends until after production wrapped up. Some of these A-listers are Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta, who shared the big screen in "Greece."

The duo remain close friends and have been there for each other through difficult times. Admittedly, the pair once had feelings for each other but it didn't last.
